Why are stars and planets globes. OK I know there not perfect spheres but to me they are as good as.
Anyone know?
It's the attraction of the particles to each other on a local scale, so on a global scale they naturally incline towards the centre of the 'weight'. The centre is the most attractive point, so the object becomes spherical.
The slightly larger equater is due to the attraction of the centre of the Sun with the moon also having some effect. _________________
Waffle: The planets are round cos if they were square the aliens would fall off the edge. A sphere has no edges to fall off.
This is the theory of gravity.
