This video proposes that tectonic theory at the moment is incorrect and that the Earth is actually growing thus causing the movement that we know has happened:

One thing that comes to mind is the advert for a car on the TV. The car turns seamlessly into a robot.

The other thing that comes to mind is, where does the sea come from. If we have two thirds more surface and that surface is covered by sea then where did that sea come from. Where was it before the expansion.

I don't understand the science but it also seems to me that Tectonic spreading would cause the same variation in the age of the seabed. It would be younger in the centre as it opens up.

Those are good points you make and the answer doesn't come to me.

I did try looking for a refute to this theory (Im sure there must be one somewhere) but I got dragged into watching some anti gravity stuff

Blow the Tectonics. Antigravity can change the world as we know it.

Its amazing what you can end up watching if you just follow related videos on YouTube. I typed in 'science' in the search bar and ended up watching all sorts of really great stuff.

It's better than TV channels

Does that mean the Earth is alive?

Is the Earth alive, or is it a lump of rock with gases attracted to it?

Interesting question :)

How do you define living or life?

For instance if we look at ourselves we are a collection of atoms and things whizzing around like mad. So of course is the Earth. So what is the difference?

yes so right we are made up of the same atoms and such and basically we are all energy.. the earth has an energy too... so it must be living

A dead person is made of the same atoms as a living one.

But one is alive and one is dead. Both still have an energy, but different. A dead person still has energy, it is not frozen, chemical processes still take place (decomposition), but there is no regeneration.

So where does life come into it?

Perhaps a living person is conscious and a dead person is not.

Consciousness is the missing factor here as you rightly point out "both have energy"

It says to me that the body really is a vehicle for consciousness. When it is worn out it gets re-cycled.

Question is, what becomes of the conscious part?

If the body is changing perhaps the conscious part is also changing.

Perhaps the Earth has a different consciousness. Is ours the only level? Just because we cannot have a chat with it does not mean that it is dead.

well I can talk to her.. in my own way . I feel the energy from her and her frequency in given places and moments.... she feeds me clothes me and shelters me .. if she isnt' alive I want to be whatever she is because that seems pretty great! oh that is right I am a part ofthe earth and it is inside me... the connection may be so subtle that many cannot recognise it or remember her energy but everyday she feeds billions while we return the favour and fed her ...

so David maybe you are right it is the level of consciousness that we either can or cannot (for this time) connect too...

I feel I am swimming again :D

Maybe you do connect to it. Maybe you are part of it. Maybe your part is the only part you are aware of, because we are only conscious of what we are conscious of.
Subconsciously, we are aware of so much more. My body tells me so each and every day, and urges my consciousness to listen.
I know when it is going to rain before I think it. What causes me to think it? What brings it to my conscious attention? Its the signals I get from my body. That feeling of damp in the air that my skin and my nose detect.

So perhaps we are each a point in a consciousness. A mindjump from one subject to another. We all exist simultaneously, we are all possibilities which are here, now. Perhaps we are all a different way of seeing the same thing. We are all just different perspectives, and carry with us all the different perspectives we have ever been, and the potential to be many more.

So with our body acting as an interface with the rest of the consciousness, that which we do not see as ourselves, it also acts as a seperation, so that we do not see our connection with that which we do not perceive to be ourselves.

And so the Earth is conscious, we do feel it, we do recognise our connection to it, as that consciousness is another viewpoint, just different, and so therefore in our perception, seperate to our own.

Whew!! Need a drink. Hormonal. Bad shopping trip

Actually, it seems to me that at the point of death, what actually changes is a sense of being an "whole".... a connection between the mind and the body.
The individual elements of the body die at different times. The bacteria which reside as part of us cintinue long after brain activity has stopped.

Yes, the consciousness must become something else, but a person is more than a consciousness and a body. Maybe this a a "sum of the parts" thing.
We seek to seperate our consciousness from our body, and seperate our body into distinct systems, and those into distinct cells, and forget to link them all back together again and look at the "whole".

So perhaps death is then the point at which we are no longer a "whole" person, and so are no longer limited by the illusion of seperation which our body has allowed us to experience and enjoy.

ooo and then I think when we get to that point we explode... hehe no only jopking it is deep but simple also.

I think you have hit on something when you talk about seperate systems

I don't think like that but then I am intune with my physical self

If we take babies we know they are intune with themselves they cry when they need something adults often have no idea what they need or if they need anything ata ll.. I think humans learn via conditioning to switch off that natural connection of each cell of themselves and the environment in which they live....

I think we are just not aware of it, well most of us.

We seek to understand, and so we dissect it into manageable chunks, and lose sight of the whole.

But that connection is still there waiting to be remembered, or noticed, or discovered.....until we die
