I remember the good old days when you could smoke yourself to death and nobody cared.

I remember the opening shots against the smoking fraternity.

They came from the medical profession.

I have heard of late those same cannon being fired but this time sighted at the drinkers of this country.

Apparently it is an epidemic.

Well i for one have already caught the bloody disease so are the medical boys with the backing of the government about to ride out to my rescue.

if they do I may just have to tell them to bugger off.

I live by a simple rule, the only opinion that matters is my own.

Everything else is just noise.

there is always some hoon in this country telling us what we can and cant do........there was an odious little man wittering on last week on the tv news about how terrible things were.turns out that this little pile odf excrement gets his wages from a fake board/charity that gets its funding from???????????????????????????????????????

yes of course.our govt.

the drinking 'limits' were plucked out of thin air!!!!!!!!!

oh yes..........

then thye say its 'for the children'!!!!!!!!!!!!

er......you aren't allowed to drink until you are 18!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i noticed some stupid sign in tescos the other day.....those muthas will ask for id if you look under 25!!!!!!!!!

hassling people just getting a drink..........something we have done for thousands of years...........

why dont they ask why SOME people drink to excess?

perhaps they are fed up with shite  jobs( or no job) endless tax, being legged over by every business and the govt and councils?

or perhaps that would open a can of worms that the righteous wouldn't like ???????????

then they say it costs so much...........well scrap the nhs and give us our money back............the nhs kills 1 in every 300 patients.......
on my nights out havent seen 1 person pegging it in my local weatherspoons!

so there we have it-being in a pub is safer than being treated by the nhs!

Well in that case try smoking in a public place and see what your opinion is worth.

Oh,

My cynical head just told me that with the country indebted to the worlds big bankers that taxes on alchohol will increase to pay back their /our money, for our own good of course.

ooooooh Hobbs. You are seriously in danger of turning into one of those sheep you accuse everybody else of being.

Do you actually worry about all this anti-smoking stuff?

Light up your ciggy and enjoy it. What are they going to do? Call the police? LOL!

Fact is that I like the smoking ban

It has cut my smoking down immensely especially as i never smoke indoors and if I happen to go out for a drink or a meal I don't end up with a stinking wardrobe.

That's the upside.

The down side is that i just plain don't like being told what to do even if it is good for me.

So don't do it then. The police are far too busy terrorising motorists and chasing people around the countryside for killing foxes, so they won't bother you in the 3 minutes it takes to smoke a fag.

I like the smoking ban as well, especially in places where you eat. I hate a smoky atmosphere when I'm eating. I disagree with it in pubs of course and I think pubs should be made to make a choice - serve food or allow smoking - can't have both.

But I have to disagree with the smoking ban on the grounds that it was a Labour invention. Anything Labour comes up with I have to disagree with on principle.

I laugh at this hair brained idea and think it unthinkable.

I thought the same about a smoking ban 25 years ago.

These people are like COC.

Here to save us.

no matter what is put in place there cannot control people to that level..  we can have laws and people will be outside the law always..

just lately there has been a push to raise the legal drinking age to 21 in Australia...

Well that will put an end to kid's drinking then won't it.

Do they honestly think that this will stop kids drinking.

No it will not.

It just means less places for them to go and even more trouble on the streets.

the idea is that they able to charge young people for drinking behind the wheel... its not totally about stopping drinking here it about stopping violent and abusing behaviour related to alcohol.

I am for it.. I bring thrown too many people killed by drink drivers.. many are kids .. I don't know if it can be stopped but surely people can't stand by and just let it happen- burying your head in the sand is not a solution .. and you cannot say there is no problem...  it is an epidemic of teen drinking  its different to when we were younger because of the alcohol content

if they can limit the amount of water per house hold then they can enforce this- why not

Well that is an entirely different scenario.

Drinking and driving is bad and I know because I have done it in the past.

Of course not just youngsters should not drink and drive but I am still unclear as to how they are going to enforce this new law should it become law.

well all they can do is modify the club and pub scene....   its pretty strict here already as service is not allowed to someone who is intoxicated and there are very hefty fines for clubs and pubs if this is not  adhered to..

as for the drink driving laws they have already changed the blood alcohol level to zero for people on P plates.. and they are thinking lowering it to .03 for a full licensed person

Well then there is only one direction that things are heading then.

Zero tolerance.

So if you drive and drink the smallest amount you will lose your licence.

So if you go out over the weekend to a party you may just get nicked on Monday on your way to work.

lol. we have a lot in common! Big Grin
I can't stand smoing, I don't mind drunks as long as they are not on my way. But smoking stinks (and I am very sensitive to smells), makes me sneeze and also makes that person's mouth stink as well. I once in my life kissed a smoker and that was my first and last experience of the kind. Never again!

Crack on to her.

When I saw her picture I was going to offer to take her to the swing park.

Nastiness!!
Just had a fantasy: I will wave my magic wand and turn Mr. Hobbs into a nice little slug, then pour on him a few spoons of salt, turn him into a gello mass that I can happily sell to the swingers to do whatever they want with it.  Big Grin
That reminds me: Halloween is near and spells are supposed to be stronger.

He meant that his opinion is all that matters for HIM, was not a question of worth for OTHERS. Other people an think whatever, for him is not important. Was not a question of worth.
