I have tried and tried over the years to understand some dream that I keep on having.
I keep on dreaming about some canaries in a cage whom I forget to feed. And in the dream I kinda suddenly remember to have a look at them and am surprised that even if I forgot to feed them they are still alive.
I haven't had that dream for a while but a few nights away it was back- only this time it was about them not having water. But they had no food either. :(
It must be connected to some need I have but have no idea what the need is.
As about canaries... I had canaries for almost all my life, I had them tamed and let them fly freely around the house. They only went to the cage when they wanted food or in the night when they went to sleep.or of course, when the windows were open. Although almost all of them escaped at least once and came back.
I always had 2 canaries- they were always a pair. I didn't like to have just one lonely canary.
now I wonder about my dream again... What do I need to feed. _________________ Magic Is. That’s all, it just is. We don’t have to create it, we simply have to find it. But where do we look? Within, first, last and always; look within. |

Maybe the dream is telling you that your missing something important, feeding and watering birds is a task (at one point we had 21 Canaries and 17 Zebra Finches) and maybe it's something important you have to do everyday, and the dream reminds you when you've forgotten to do it for a while? it's a possibility as i don't really understand dreams anymore, or at least don't belive every symbol is the same for every person. _________________ I give you, the Waffle King |

immediately i read this i felt that this was your sense of freedom ... your need to nurture your spiritual self. it feels like it is pointing out that it has always been there but you have not acknowledged it ...but it is there waiting to be nurtured. as you open to all possibilities it would be interesting to know if you have more dreams about flying! _________________ i'm not afraid of dying...it's living that scares me!!!! |

Waffle King- thanks for the idea! you might be right about the daily routine, maybe it has to do with responsability... I am afraid I am not always very responsible and I take risks quite easily. hmmmm... I'll have to think some more....
Laura- thanks for the reply! I don't usually have dreams of flying. Dreams of flying I think mean breaking contact with reality. At the moment I feel I am free but who knows... I have to make a note of dates and life situation at the moment of the dream and then compare situations later... _________________ Magic Is. That’s all, it just is. Symbols mean different things to different people but here is what your dream means to me.
Canaries are yellow in colour and they are creatures of the air.
Air and the colour yellow equates with mind, your mind.
It would seem that at the moment your mind is a prisoner either of your's or someone else's.
If it is someone else then you need to stop dwelling on them and the effect that they are having on your life. In other words you need to free your mind.
Forgetting to nourish your mind means that you are to busy thinking about some things that you cannot change and these thoughts prevent you from thinking freely. Forget the past and move on is what I get.
Any way that's the way I see it. _________________ Please visit our main site |

Well, Mr Hobbs, I am here talking to you about paranormal experiences, I guess my mind is freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee . I'll wait and see if the dream comes back. Interesting insight anyway.
To me canaries are sweet, beautiful, fragile, innocent. I have always loved them because of all that. Maybe that is what I need to 'feed' and I sometimes forget.
This has been very helpful. Many thanks. _________________ Magic Is. That’s all, it just is. We don’t have to create it, we simply have to find it. But where do we look? Within, first, last and always; look within. |

We have had canaries for years.
We love them for their song but sometimes I feel guilty about keeping them in a cage.
Oh and very very very few people have free minds. _________________ Please visit our main site |

I want some new canaries. And no, I don't feel guilty for keeping them in a cage because it's better with me than with the pet shop. I had a blind one once who lived for 2 years being blind (was old as well). I really loved him. I used to feed him myself a dozen times a day, but he knew that on the left side there was water and on the right food, if he needed that. They cannot live free in this climate so better with me than the pet shop.
