Don't fight fire with fire, fight fire with water.

Actually, fighting fire with fire can be quite effective.

In last year's bush fires in Australia they were setting light to trees and bushes that were in the path of the bush fires.

By destroying these bushes the bigger fire had nowhere to go.

That was a good thing to do. It's always better to work with nature rather than against her.

Not at all. I watched a thing on TV about it and apparently it's a very effective way of dealing with bush fires. I'm sure EG could tell us more.

But of course you're going to say you were speaking more metaphorically, well, I still say that fire can fight fire. Sometimes you can only deal with certain people on their own level.

If someone is as thick as shit and all they can do is shout and hit other people it's pointless trying to reason with them, all you can do is shout louder and hit harder.
They can't shout or hit you back when they're out cold, can they?

While initially effective, spending the rest of your life in prison, would take away any future effectiveness.

Well, yes, I see your point, but there are always the things you do and the things you are caught doing.

Don't get caught.

Arse covering is a very effective skill to learn.

Confuscious says 'he that wish to not get caught, not do thing in first place'  or something like that anyway.

Yeah well, from what I've read about Confuscious the bloke sounded like a bit of a wanker to be honest.
He also said "Man who wishes to catch fish should not climb tree" No shit Sherlock!!!

So taking it back to the start of this thread, what would you suggest would be an appropriate and effective retaliation to the spate of recent attacks in Soho?

I really can't see how getting a bunch of poofs sitting around Trafalgar Sqaure with candles is going to make these ignorant neanderthals think twice.

I have actually read a lot of Confucious over the years and in all fairness some of it could be classed as wisdom, but from what I've seen a huge chunk of it can only be classed as bleedin' obvious.

I reckon this Confucious bloke must have been paid per quote because a lot of his stuff really is a bunch of crap.
