15th Thread: I look for reasons I can do things instead of can't, and I do them when they need doing.

Now I am the first to admit that I am a lazy so and so.
I do find it difficult doing things when they need doing.

I do them about six months after they needed doing.

Thing is that it feels good when I do something on time and then don't have it on my mind anymore.

Doing things on time is BORING !
You have to leave leeway, unless it's urgent !

Well I shouldn't say,but I do agree.
I am a stickler for being on time for appointments but when it comes to doing things around the house I put it off all the time.

When I do get around to things then it is all hands to the pump and the jobs are done in about 1/4 of the time that I thought they would take.

Made my mind up.

Today I shall varnish the garden gates.

For small jobs around the house I get my Mum to do them.

For bigger jobs there's this wonderful young man I know who lives near Victoria Park.
And the Brucie Bonus is for an extra £30 he works topless.

Everyone's a winner!

It seems to me that this thread is about not making excuses.

If you can't do something, why not?

Try asking "why not" untill you get to the real answer.

I can't market my business.
Why not?
Because I am no good at it.
Why not?
Because I don't know what to say.
Why not?
Because I don't know what people may want.
Why not?
Because I haven't asked.
Why not?
Because I might not like the answer
Why not?

And so on.
When you know why you aren't, then you can fix it. If you want to. Doesn't mean you can't.

When you look for why you CAN do something, you remove your limitations, which you have set on yourself anyway. Coudl be someonetold you that you can't and you believed them. Could be that if you can, you may actually have to do something. Could be any number of reasons / excuses. None of them are real....they may just be very handy for justifying not doing something.
Personal responsibility.

Sod it. I'd better go do that marking that I can't find time for!!!
