Has anybody seen the film 'District 9'?
I had really high hopes that at long last this was going to be a sensible 'alien' movie.
How wrong can you be? |

I haven't seen it but the trailors looked as though it'd be a good movie. _________________ All things written by me are copyright by me. |

That's what I thought SP,.............................WRONG!!!!
It's starts off good and for the first half you think to yourself that's what it really would be like in real life if an alien craft arrived on earth, but about halfway through it just gets sillier and sillier and by the end you just can't be bothered anymore.
Why does Hollywood have to do that? They start off with a good idea, keep it fairly realistic and then towards the end make it silly. It's as if they lose interest.
'The Craft' is a prime example of this. |

I don't care if it's a good or a bad film, cos Peter Jackson has promised me and other Halo 3 gamers, if it makes enough money, we get a Halo Movie
But i've heard mixed reviews, and i shall be seeing it for myself, and making my own mind up, as ever _________________ I give you, the Waffle King |

I quite enjoyed it!! Yes, it was silly at points but I thought it was very symbolic, not just an Alien Movie. I debated this all night with my other half as he couldnt see any meaning in this movie whatsoever but to me it was using Aliens as an example about how we turn on people who are different to us and dont understand them, the way they called them Prawns "coz they looked like prawns" is so similar to the way other races have been nicknamed etc. I could go on and on about the symbology of this movie but I wont bore you.
It wasnt as good as I hoped it would be but I still thought it was one of the better sci fi movies I have watched recently. _________________ The only thing a woman has left to hold on to is being a bitch! |

| Oh without a doubt all the symbology was there and it had all the 'human bashing' undertones that these kind of movies always have but it was just the whole - 'human becomes alien because he was splashed by chemicals' that I thought was a bit naff. |

I know what you mean but they had to changed a human to an Alien somehow for the story to work.
My fave Alien movie is "Cloverfield", the concept is so clever and I love the little twist at the end, some people dont see it so they miss it!!! _________________ The only thing a woman has left to hold on to is being a bitch! |

| My boyfriend saw Cloverfield... he said he felt sick because of the camera work. He had to close his eyes at some points in the film and just listen to it as it was that bad... he did say though that the storyline was a good one. Shame. |

is this the one with travolta in it.
Do they americians get all sentimental for humanity and bash the aliens in the name of freedom and the american way. How many times does the stars and stripes fly?
The U.s. cant make decent films cause their heads are up their arse and they don't understand reality because of the american dream. _________________ ---

District 9 is actually set in South Africa but it has 'paid for by America' written all over it.
I'd love to go into more detail Sam but you have to be aware of spoiling it for those who haven't seen it yet.
Ooooooh, look at me being all considerate! |
