Why the Paranormal

I have been approached by a university student for an interview regarding his work on making a documentary about people who are involved in the paranormal.

After a while and realising that this guy was obviously very bright and not just a time waster I agreed to the interview.

One of the things that he spoke about on the telephone was what is it that attracts certain people to the paranormal.

Now I had to think long and hard about that question and I still am even after giving him a sort of an answer.

So I ask you.

Why are you attracted to the paranormal?
Raymond

Why do people go train spotting? Or do knitting? Or collect stamps? It's a passion that you're attracted to or not.

I have a friend in Northumberland whose hobby and indeed 'career' is to breed and show Guinea Pigs.
I don't understand it myself but he has a genuine passion about Guinea Pigs. He could talk for hours about the things.

Horses for courses I suppose.

its an interesting question .. too me it is normal.. nothing para about it...  why do some people choose to work in an office all day- hmm they think that is normal , and yet to me there is nothing normal or natural about it..

I'm not attracted to paranormal things   I just do what comes naturally to me ... its like the progression of life and this is the phase I am in at this time

is he doing a thesis on it David???

I follow it cos i don't understand it, and it has scientific potential, what else do i need to follow it other then to find an answer?

i like that evergreen ,same for me really ,its part of my life  and is normal in fact i would say the mediumship ,psychic  work  is  such a natural faculty that one day i feel we may all be able to contact our loved ones, just like picking up a phone ,when people are aware of how  to do this

Yes I believe so.

By the way your reasons are the same as mine.

It begins as an interest because of something that we are and the way we were born.

Then it becomes a quest to know that something.

That will be something to see Mark..  :)   its a lovely thought to have x

even great mediums can not always contact their own loved ones.. its strange isn't it ...

I love to question Why.

And the boundaries of Paranormal are far vaster than science and religion, which makes investigation more interesting.

Also the finding of some answers can launch you into yet a myriad of more question.

Because I know nothing about it. Several years on, I still know nothing.
That in itself draws me.

It would be really interesting to know what his nothing is that you know.
Raymond

We all know nothing about it. The minute you start thinking you know anything is the minute you realise you know nothing.

That or you get your own show on Living TV.

GHE Haunting, 9 faces of Evil, this Christmas, together with our fake live(ish) audience we shall attempt some of the most blatent lies on Television, only on, Most Haunted, i mean, GHE Haunting

And therein lies the trick. If I don't know it, does it exist? Does it exist only in potential? There is a whole lot of nothing that may be something, and all of that is what I don't know.

What I do know is still open to revision, and therefore is just what I think I know, not necessarily what IS.....and therefore, even what I do know, I don't.

Much easier to say I don't know, and have fun in finding out what that is (or isn't).

Wine or tea.....I just don't know......maybe both and then open myself to other possibilities.....
laura

i am drawn to it because it gives you infinite possibilities... there is no wrong or right answers .... you open yourself to experiences that seem to give you an answer to your question only to leave you seeking answers to a thousand more questions.... on this side of life you can never know the answers you can only seek personal truth. it is discovering new experiences that feel right. it is seeking the ultimate "enlightenment".
