why cant i meditate?i used to be able to meditate.and got lots of input........
have followed several ways and these stopped working long ago........
so last night i went back to basics.......i tried a shamanic journey to the upperworld.....
instead of going to the upperworld i became a fish swimming in blue water,round+round..........the water was just floating in 'the void'........
any thoughts peeps?

Firstly you used to get lot's of input.
Input is your inner self trying to tell you something. If that something is not worked through in your outer life then I doubt that you will get more input until it is.
Now to the meditation.
You were EXPECTING something and that in itself is a mistake as what you expect and what you need are often not the same thing.
Let the universe speak to you without constraint and expectation and that frees you up considerably.
Water is power and emotion and of course feminine it is through the feminine form that the male force becomes manifest.
Go back in and ask what it is that needs to be done here in the material physical world and do it even if it is the opposite to anything that you think is correct.
If you do then things will happen to confirm that the universe knows what it needs and not what you want.
It also seems that your power, what ever it may be is in a void.
The ......
No meditate and find out for yourself.........
You know me Mark. I am only to happy to give you work.

i was only expecting an answer because that is how i was taught to do it.....
ie one repeats a question over and over while journeying to one of the 3 worlds...........
i didnt judge the 'vision' -just watched it.........
it was a surprise because i was in a totally different place than i had aimed for.........
anyway..........i will take your advice..........
tnx

just had a flash.the water is something to do with creation because it was the same as the water i saw a long time ago where creation manifests from the void...........hmmmm

do you perhaps not feel that you feel your life is a bit of a void right now and while you are swimming in the ocean that is your life you do feel as though you are going round and round.. I feel the higher self/subconscious is attempting to show you where you are at right now..
Personally I don't' believe one can really ask a question other than .. show me what you feel I need to be shown... to ask a specific question implies that you think or believe you know more than I think we really do.. if that makes any sense ha!
that is how I meditate and every time bang it is different and i feel the lack of expectation is helpful because I understand that I do not know what I need most of the time

That is why I said that the female (water) gives form to the male force/life force.
The womb is the place of creation it still in stasis and the waters haven't broken yet for the birth.
Do please look at what happens in the material very closely now.

That is a real bugger when it happens and it is very common.
I am sure that you are intelligent enough to know that at times like that you need help from outside.
I have found that when i "dry up" if I go to a group meditation, any group will do, then it makes a big difference and things begin to happen again.
When you have been used to getting input from meditating you really do feel the loss when it stops happening.
You don't say to much on here but I would take a bet that you used to get lot's and lot's of input.

I've been really good lately.
I bought myself a bunch of guided meditation CD's and a personal CD player and meditate everynight when I get into bed.
The downside is I often fall asleep before I finish the thing but I've been having better sleep for it.

the answer is within .. it never goes away .. you just have to listen to it
The universe is no great mystery it is always offering us explanation the difficulty lays in when we think we know what we need and the universe delivers what we really need and we don't recognise it so we walk the other way...
ah the mystery of live solved hahahah

i was watching a film a week or two ago.........
i quote' i dont need to be loved-i just need a little success'
this struck a chord with me.........surely we all need some good things in our life?
whether they are material or personal?
it feels nice when you buy a new cd or do a good deed.........
in our society it is almost impossible to live as a hermit sitting in meditation so to a certain extent we have to cope with the parameters that literally surround us.so getting a new job, bearing a child or finding a rare book can all be seen as success..something that makes us feel good?
so i would say that we all need success..........and success can mean different things to different people...............if we are constantly thwarted then we cannot grow or learn.in fact we can become unbalanced with too much of good or bad.............
at a more mundane level most of us want a nice life........it is far nicer to live in peace than have to face bullets...........so as humans i think we all want the best, without fear hurt pain or suffering............so i would say it is in our nature to be successful- or even creators- to deny achievement as some religions do is actually to deny the nature of the beast.........
if god or the universe created everything then surely some success was in that action? i have often heard it said that the 'one' created the universe to look at itself.............so surely this was a success and also based on a desire?
i had a thai girlfriend years ago.she was a buddhist. i was talking to her about 'desire'...............she said 'if you cant have things now then when can you have them'?
perhaps we all need success and not to be stuck in a void?

Yes we do like to achieve things even quite small things can be pleasing.
I remember speaking to a publicly educated friend of mine and I said to him that public school education must be great for climbing the ladder in business.
He said no.
What it teaches you is this.
If you are a barrister or a dustman be the best dustman or barrister that you can possibly be and then you will have done all that you can in life.
To most people success is a big car and a posh house with a bit of money in the bank.
My friend now deceased was not rich.
But he was the best market and show demonstrator that I ever saw working a crowd.

You can't meditate?
as I used to say to my over active child after she had a bottle of sunny delight....
"Sit still and shut up"
