War On WitchdoctorsIn Tanzania, dozens of albino people have been murdered in a killing spree lasting more than a year to supply Witchdoctors with their body parts.
It's believed albino parts, including limbs, and especially genitals are vital 'ingredients' for magic potions designed to make people wealthy.
The Tanzanian government and police force have stepped up a campaign to catch the killers of people with albinism.
An on-going plan has been started nationwide to encourage people to 'shop' those they believe responsible for the killings
The plan has started in the country's 'Lake Zone' where 41 of the 49 killings have taken place. It will be rolled out across the rest of the country later this year.
A man has already been found to be in possession of albino body parts and was arrested and charged. Around 200 other arrests have been made but without charge.
The scheme has been met with criticism by lobby groups who say it will simply encourage people to shop others with whom they have a personal score to settle.
President Jakaya Kikwete says, "Our aim is to ensure the problem is eliminated and the country's image to the international community is cleansed".

Yes it's not exactly Stoke Newington out there is it.
In terms of time we are not that far removed from this sort of thing and in time it will change in Africa.
I suppose albinos are great if you just fancy a light lunch.

Oh It is true Diana.
I would think that great tracks of the planet are peopled by ignorance.
Thing is this sort of thing is just beneath the surface of so called sophisticated societies.
