The witch finder GeneralWe are going to Maningtree next Monday, birth place of the witch finder general.
We had some amazing experiences last time so I am looking forward to it.
We shall see.

I forget my own birthday most years.
We will arrange to go later in the week.
Last time we visited the place Anne picked up on some really good and provable input concerning a man called William Lilly.
We all laughed when she said Willy Lilly, but she had the last laugh when we checked up on the history.
William Lilly was a regular visitor to Maningtree and apparently also to the witch finder Mr Hopkins.
There were several other incidences that no doubt will be recounted after our next visit.

i have seen this witchfinder generall,he is seen in canewdon ,when i saw him i felt this man was not a good man and he dissapeared as quick as i saw him,he has been seen by people a few times ..

Yes he does pop up from time to time and introduces himself. I can think of three occasions. One involved me, and Mathew was a pretty bad lot.
There is no record that I know of that places Hopkins in this part of Essex, so it seems odd to me that he turns up here.

ooops the man i saw was this pickingill chap ,i dont no much about the history ,i think i got these mixed up sorry about that ,i just seen a photo of him ,and it was g pickingill i saw ,i found this as well
