The Sally Army

Magi and I although pagan through and through have friends of various religions. Yesterday we were invited to afternoon tea and strawberries by a salvationist couple. Oh dear I was thinking ,this could be a bit boring.
As it turned out the husband had been selected for the 1948 Olympics and had run with the likes of Rodger Banister , Zatopek. Gordon Piri etc. After that he had gone to Africa as a missionary living on practically nothing and at the same time learning to play some of the thirty instruments that he can play. He stayed in Africa all of his working life and as well as tripping over lions being pinned to trees by Elephants and doing his missionary work he managed to train the country's Olympic team. They took two golds.
She cannot walk very well as she was savagely beaten by bandits in Rawanda having been a missionary all of her life. I didn't mention the occult and I think I got away with it even when she told me of some of the more mystical things that she had experienced in her life.

Alestair Crowley Aleister Shmowlly. Next life time I want to join the
Sally army and see some real life.

Lesson. Never judge a book by what you percieve the cover to represent.

I couldn't agree more. I sometimes think that these experiences are sent to remind us now and again to take the time to listen to others and see life from anothers point of view and I realise that these experiences are sometimes very much needed! Kind of like a little nudge to keep us on track!
