Study into near-death experiences | Quote: | A large study is to examine near-death experiences in cardiac arrest patients.
Doctors at 25 UK and US hospitals will study 1,500 survivors to see if people with no heartbeat or brain activity can have "out of body" experiences.
Some people report seeing a tunnel or bright light, others recall looking down from the ceiling at medical staff.

This was in the paper the other day, I meant to post something up about it but forgot
Apparently, they are going to put things on shelves that can't be seen from the bed, to see if the 'floating' type of out of body experience has any validity.
I look forward to the results of this.

Good. about time it was given serious study.
There must be a way to trigger an oobe without resorting to near death.

I've just read a book about NDE's by Tammy Cohen, I got it from the library, it was really interesting. I've read alot about them over the years and seen a couple of programmes on tv a few years ago and I think its brilliant.
I think it is possible to have an OOBE without being so close to death as I have come aacross cases both in books and on tv documentaries that some can do it at will but also it can happen to some, unaware that its happening until they try to get a hold of a door handle or some have gone out of the room for a bit and only realised that they are having an OOBE when they return to the room and see themselves asleep on the sofa or something similar.
I wish I could do it, preferrably at will!
