Still here in spirit.

When I used to go to the Spiritualist Church on a regular basis some rather odd things happened.
One such thing concerned an elderly lady who ,I think may have had a stroke.  She started coming and seemed to be enjoying herself even though communication was difficult for her as her speech was very bad.
She also had the habit of making a high pitched warbling sound.  Sometimes she would treat a to a demonstration of mega warbling halfway through the visiting mediums opening address.  Even better was when she did it halfway through someone else's message.
She herself over the weeks had several messages given to her which seemed to brighten her up enormously.
One day her daughter contacted the church and told us the under no circumstances was her mother ever going to be allowed back to our church as it was a place of the Devil.  Sure enough on the following Sunday the lady was not in the congregation and warbler or not she was missed.  We learnt early in the evening that the lady had been sent to Clacton, some fifty miles away and was unlikely to return.
The visiting medium for the evening began her address and suddenly we all heard it.  A long loud warble.  We all looked around expecting to see our newly made friend in the hall but she was nowhere to be seen.

She was absent in body, but in spirit she was oh so very present.

We never saw her again.

Had she passed by that time?

I have read that people suffering from dementia are half in spirit, half with us, is that true? If so, if she was still alive could that have been the cause?

Or could it have been some audible form of astral projection?

Maybe a collective conscious thought triggered by something that normally triggered her warbling.

Sorry if that is too many questions, I am interested as to how it was caused.

I have a mother in law with Altzeimers and I don't think the she is half in spirit. This event took place within a week of the lady being packed of to Clacton by her daughter and as far as I am aware she was still very much alive.

What are your own thoughts on how this incident occured?

I think that perhaps we live in a sea of potential. That potential is activated by cosciousness. Our conciousness. If you think strongly enough about something you will link to or affect that something. We were thinking of her and she was thinking of us.

The one thing that answers all questions for me is this.

Everything is mind.
evergreen

Great Great great.. thanks for sharing that David.. we can call others to us if we want I do believe that.. the power of the mind is immense..

So when you heard her did you smile or shiver..hehehe

i once went to a spiritualist meeting..........the medium said that sometimes it was difficult to tune in because 'they' had to come through seven layers.......can anyone explain this to me?

Yes it is simple. Billy I am suprised that you did not work it out yourself.

The medium was talking complete B*******

See, simple.
evergreen

Billy, I have heard that too.. I have also heard that if we raise our vibrations then we go through the layers making clearer contact... ???

Honestly I never know what to think of all this advise I just do what I do.. I can say that I do tuning in to work but then it could just be what others term raising my vibrations l .....

I was also told that you shouldn't drink or eat before doing any medium work well I haven't found that to be true for me either...

Actually David I took that all to be spiritualist church advise.. maybe I was wrong and in some way I also thought that may be the old ways or school of thought that I have heard you speak of???

Oh you are funny sometimes David

Billy, I had read and/or talked about the same thing (the 7 layers thingy) as have you Evergreen. All I can say is that if it ever happens to me, I'll let ya know. Its the only way I'll know for sure! :D

i thought 'talking bollocks' was the name of his red indian spirit guide!!
david hobbs

It is all linked to the colour spectrum. Seven colours. Also the seven Chakras and other things that I cannot remember. Oh yes the seven rays. It goes on.

At the end of the day does it matter.

Do we think about our heart beating or our lungs expanding and deflating.

To me it is nonsense. But then I do not know anything.
meiah

If you didn't know about the seven doodahs, would they still get in the way?

Naughty Fairy

We limit ourselves Meiah, to what we can do.
All things are possible to do , belief in yourself helps too :D
evergreen

you are so right...

I find it daunting sometimes because working as a medium yet not having that circle training or that spiritual learning background I often get people that talk about things I haven't even heard of..
Naughty Fairy

I believe we all learn from each other and take on board what is needed to learn at the time, no one is better than anyone else just different, all here to experience life in the physical reality so we can grow and evolve, nothing ever stays still, that is a illusion, becoming so much more than we were before, through our choices that we make in life. :D

Would our upbringing and social environment not play a part in those decisions?
evergreen

they can do.. unless we consciously make some effort to change our outlook.. or learn new things

I have come across many people who live lives of very little change and new learning.. nothing wrong with that if they are happy that way .. some people choose to stay closed even if all the signs are there to push onward or change sometimes they don't see the signs or fear or something else holds them back
david hobbs

So I wonder what the limiting factor is?

Is it our mind, or perhaps the view of others that prevents us reaching our full potential.

I was once a door to door vacuum cleaner salesman.  I sold lot's and lot's when others couldn't even face knocking on doors let along giving a sales pitch.

The reason I sold lot's was very simple.

No on had ever told me that it was a difficult thing to do.
meiah

You've got it. The limiting factor is what we beleive, or understand to be our own limitations.
Could be something we have learned, been told, or just figured out for ourselfs. Mostly though, it is the fears which stem from these things, and those fears are all, without exception, imaginary. They just don't feel that way.
david hobbs

So perhaps we should make a point of doing things from time to time that we deem to be impossible.

Or perhaps things that we are afraid to try.
meiah

I do. It wakes me up, makes me feel alive. Its not an adrenaline thing, but a new way of seeing things after you realise that yours fears were a tad silly.

They will act like a parachute.
laura
