Spirit GuidesYes I do know that it has been done to death on other forums but I would still like to ask what you think is going on. I have met many people who seem to be totaly ruled by the concept of guides which they accept totaly.
What do you think?

I have mixed feelings I think that my higher self brings through my info or the collective conscious. yet I have been told many times it is my guides... I think she is my greatest guide
then I have the thing that I can see others that are not me giving me the info

I am happier with the "other aspect of self" idea, whether that be a higher self or just a different self.
For the same reason that I am happy to accept advice and guidance from another, but it is not "mine" until I integrate it, experience it (yes and maybe anaylse it to death, question it, adapt it etc etc).

I really like the idea of a different self. I will use that and claim it as my own

i must admit to "struggling" with this idea of having spirit guides.... when i meditate it is "me" i hear giving me the answers. although i must admit to getting totally spooked the other night..... whilst somewhere near dream state trying to work out a problem i asked out ..."if you are there at least show yourself to me and let me have some answers" the next thing "something" started to gently tap me on the back..(i was lying on my side) as if to attract my attention.... i froze!!
very annoyed with myself now.. i don't usually get spooked..and annoyingly still don't know the answer!

It's a brave person who asks for the unknown to visit without any sense of trepidation. I know what you mean though. You feel that you have missed a golden oportunity. I hate to say it,but you have

I have missed oportunites myself many times.
Let me tell you a story. You may believe it or not it does not matter.
When I was being trained in the ways of Merlin. Hang in there. I was always told that part of the rituals was to raise both arms in a Y shape as a salutation to him and aknowledge him as the Arch Mage of this land.
I had just started courting my wife and we had found a little spot in the woods to park our car and drink some red wine and eat some food. It was a darkish evening and as I looked into the woods a grey mist began to form about fifty yards away. I pointed it out to Magi and as we watched it rose about forty feet from the ground and took on the form of a robed man with both arms raised in a Y. I s**t myself and nearly blew the engine in my car up making my escape. When I told my teacher he looked as if I had slapped him. David you have just missed the chance of a lifetime. He walked away from me and I felt like a chastised little boy.
So you see it does happen and fear is the only thing that stops us from doing just about anything in life. Lessons to be learned but that to me is what the occult and paranormal is all about.

ah my lights have just been truned on as to why I may have opened up so quickly.. I have never turned that kind of opportunity down .. nothing much has frightened me and if it has I have always felt it best to speak up and address the strange things I have seen ... I love that story David!!!!

The thing is that in the paranormal the things we fear are the things that we need to work with.

hmmm..other people have told me that i had 'someone with me'.........
apparently one was a grandfather........another was a nurse!...
now at the risk of getting a slap from d.h. i have tried to contact my higher self many times............all she ever wants to do is dance!
she has blond curly hair,is good looking and fit and dances like she has eaten a lot of chemicals!
she never ever behaves herself or says or does anything helpful or sensible....just keeps dancing like a loony.......
so...is she my higher self or am i delusional?

The way to find out is to sit with someone who knows what they are doing and then you bring her through. If the person with you is an adept and knows what they are doing, you have a good chance of finding out if she is genuinely your higher self. If she is it is also a great opportunity to harmonise her to you.
Can you imagine the life implications of that Billy.

Mine laughs at me...in a nice way. Shows me how ridiculous all the struggle to learn is, when I know it anyway. I just haven't seen that i do.
Maybe yours is doing the same kind of thing.

Spirtualists believe in guides from the higher realms. They also believe in bad spirits,or the dark side.
I caused a bit of a stir once when I asked the medium on platform "who guides the spirits from the dark side then".
None of them had ever considerd the question and for a moment I thought that I might be asked to leave.
What do you think?

Great question David I think they all come from the same place .. It is only an assumption that there is a good a bad.. I think we are all good and bad and at different times we choose one over the other... anyone agree with this or not... I mean if there is some from of negative place I haven't been shown it yet... anyone else have an experience with it ?
Okay go for it i am open to being shot down in flames as I am a learner..

I have found that the problem is negative people rather than negative spirits. I always noticed that the people in circle who talked about the dark spirits seemed to attract negative activity. I think that circle is like life. If your mind operates in a certain way on certain themes then that is what you will get. Like most defiantly seems to attract like

The odd thing is that spirit to me is one thing from which all comes, and that one thing resides within everything. On the basis that there are dark and light spirits, it(spirit) obviously has all shades within it, otherwise it could not manifest into the material world. Perhaps I should review my belief system and instead of thinking that spirit is all light and "good" that instead it contains exactly the same number of shades as the material world. No heaven, no hell, just a continuation and you choose which you want.
Thank you evergreen for making me think.
Upon further reflection perhaps light and dark spirits are simply projections of our inner selves. How lucky are we to have our selves manifested before our conscious observation in order to learn.
