spells

I have read a lot of books on magic and spells and it took me a long time to accept that such a thing exists. But I think I do now. What exactly are spells? do they really work? Sorry if I seem a bit nosey but i have so many questions and nobody to ask and i really do want to know. Is it possible to change things through spells? is it possible to curse someone? i really am sorry if i'm being nosey
Raymond

You're not being nosey. How else can you find out about something if you don't ask questions?

When you ask 'Do spells work?' the answer really depends on what you think spells are.
If you think they're like the kind of thing you see in films or on the television or if you think it's all about shooting lighting bolts out of yout hands then the answer is no. That's not what spells are all about.

Crowley said: "Magick is the art of creating change in conformity with will', and that's a very good description.

Spells with bring you nothing that doesn't already exist in the natural world anyway.
Magick does not create the impossible. You couldn't conjure something up out of thin air because such a thing would go against all natural laws.

Magick simply improves your chances. It puts you first in line, head and shoulders above everybody else.
It can also speed things up, so if there's something coming to you that you were going to get anyway, the right spell will make it come that little bot faster and little bit better.

As for cursing people (why do they always ask that one?) yes it is entirely possible to curse a person, but again, it mostly depends upon what your view of a 'curse' is.

Curses or what ever you like to call them can work.

I did it just a few times and never again would I even think about it.

The reason is simple to me.

As you learn you realise that cursing is going to come back one way or the other.

I find people who need to curse a little bit sad really.

Why not just give them a smack in the mouth.

It's instant and far more fun.

By Janet and Stewart Farrar. I've met Janet actually, lovely lady. Not your typical High Priestess at all.

A bit of a heavy read that one Swanny. I wouldn't suggest it as a 'newbie book' but it has some interesting stuff.

how does a spell or magic work raymond?
david hobbs

Why don't you ask him something difficult?
Scott

thanks. although i have to ask the same question as billy nomates, how exactly do they work?
Raymond

Again, different people will give different answers to this question. The way I see it is all to do with energy.
We all have an aura around us, some call it prana, others call it chi - it doesn't matter what you call it, it's just a field of energy that emits from the physical body.
If you can change the vibration of that energy to attract or repel something then the spell has worked.
For example, if somebody asked me to do a spell to help them find a new love then I would work on making their aura attract love.
It works on the 'like attracts like' theory. If you make someone attract a certain energy then it follows it will manifest in their physical life.
It's the same if you send healing, money attraction or what's commonly called a 'curse'.
It's all energy manipulation.

Cheers that makes sense

I would say a spell is empathy with intent. We atrract what we are. If we wish for money we cnsume our whole being with the essence of money until it is a part of us and money attracts money. We become in the rite it's essence. Just as, If I 'want' some girl, I become her, I become her in the circle wanting me, I can only do that by pure empathy/sympathy with her. If I achieve that chances are I create such a rapport with her that I understand her, and don't actually want her to fall hopelessly n love with me.

This is The problem? I have found when people understand and can perform these works, they don't actually want them any more, it is the wisdom of seeing how a spell works and seeing it work that is the accomplishment, not so much the want, as the knowledge the universe is here for our manipulation, if we will it so.

Contentment doesn't mean filling our lives with every pleasure...though its nice haha

That is it in a nutshell really.

You become the observer rather than the doer.

Most of the time anyway.

Doing is great but observing teaches you what it is that you have learned.
billy nomates

what about the 'field'?

the idea/fact that all is interlinked/connected/mind?

a spell sets up a framework with the MIND-
then the field/energy/source/universe builds on that in the physical world..
Raymond

Once again Samjaza you explain it in a way I can only envy.

Your wordsmith skills do you proud.

That doesn't help and would get me in trouble although I've done it once too. lol. I prefer being more subtle these days.
david hobbs

Ah so it's poison then.

Silly me.
