Smile please your on cameraMy local newspaper reported a case this week which made me feel a little uncomfortable with the way things are going in this country today.
Apparently the council held a meeting to find out what objections the local people had against proposals to extend Southend Airport.
Nothing unusual there then
Thing is that as they went into the meeting to give their objections they were photographed by the police.
Now what the hell is that all about.
It seems to me that in this country you are a suspicious person if you have the audacity to exercise your democratic rights and attend a public meeting.

When we did the strike the police went round filming us all, getting every single face on camera.

I thought that police and politics were supposed to be separate in this country but it seems to me that they are the new Stasi.
I hate this surveillance society and it is getting worse every day.
We the public are the enemy so it would seem.
We who pay their salaries.
It must be time for change.
Each day the wedge between public and police is driven deeper.
I have neither respect nor trust in the "law enforcers",they are not what I recognise as british policeman, in this country any more.

this is a subject close to my heart im 100% with you and for the record i do not have a crim record ok.?
i have long history of dealings with the police and i think many abuse the uniform they wear,they should be exposed for what they are at every oppertunity. at a local resident meeting the other night i did just that to a police sgt dealing with the case where my 12 year old son was robbe3d of his trainers.

Probably because at some point in the future these people will be out demonstrating against this airport extention and the law will want to be able to identify them when they do.
Also, along with your DNA and fingerprints they need your picture on file to be able to identify you on the national register.
What can I say?
After 12 years of a useless Labour government not being able to control our borders we just have to live with this kind of thing.
Britain has more criminals now than ever before and a large proportion of them are foreigners. They have to keep tabs on them somehow.
Get used to it.
