Sick making

Does it make you as sick as me when you see "Do you remember the '80s' ?"
Of course I remember the 80s, I was in my 20s !!
Nowhere do you see Do you remember the '70s, or the 60s, as if the compilers of these things are just children !!
Right my ageism rant is over !!
Raymond

Mr. Hobbs is still looking for "Do you remember the 20's?"
david hobbs

Ah Yes the nostalgia of it all

The Charleston Al Capone, and witchcraft was well in the background.

Idylic.
Bravo

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be
swanlady

I was wondering where you were today Bravo. Haven,t seen you on here for overa week now.
david hobbs

He's been practising.

Someone told him that Billy Connelly was retiring.
Bravo

I've been on, must have not posted much, but read pretty much everything.

Work also sometimes drags me to places where the internet doesn't reach, or I'm just plain tired

My eldest loudy announced she hates the 80's    and she wasn't even alive - apparently she's sick of the remember the 80's things too Hunter
I was just in double figures when they started

At last you are right Waff.

The sixties changed everything musically and I am pleased that I saw it all happen.
Lilly

Me Too!
Aren't we lucky ,David, that we have seen all those music changes, and before the 'kids' of today start!!!!! a lot of old tunes and songs are being played and recorded again and again. I can remember buying 'Are you Lonesome Tonight' by Mark...[ooops,sorry,Elvis] and my Mum saying, that was out in my days! Since then,as I sing along to the 'hits' of today,my grand-daughter says; 'how do you know the words to that,Nan,it only came out today!'
history repeats itself. Big Grin
evergreen

oh yes Lily I remember my mum saying that to me and I say it to my kids ...  Big Grin

I actually caught myself shouting at my 16 year old sister the other day to "Turn that rubbish down!"

When did I get old?
Hunter

Don't worry Raymond.

Marks and Spencers will fit you out in no time.
Raymond

Either that or Millets.

I like the 80's. It gives me a chance to laugh at myself.

If one thing shows that media leads and we follow like sheep it is the music industry.

Some say that TV Etc has nothing to do with the way society behaves.

Violence, porn, etc

So did people have Beatle haircuts before the beatles.

If we copy style then surely we copy behaviour.

We are sheep.

Your thoughts and feelings are not your own.

My brother Robert had a Beatles haircut.
My father promised him for about three months that if he did,nt go and get his hair cut, he,d wake up and leave his hair on the pillow!!!

He did wake up the one morning and had to go and have a crew cut as his hair was left on the pillow.

My dad had been very busy with the scissors while Robert was sleeping.  Big Grin
