Sick makingDoes it make you as sick as me when you see "Do you remember the '80s' ?"
Of course I remember the 80s, I was in my 20s !!
Nowhere do you see Do you remember the '70s, or the 60s, as if the compilers of these things are just children !!
Right my ageism rant is over !!

Ah Yes the nostalgia of it all
The Charleston Al Capone, and witchcraft was well in the background.
Idylic.

Nostalgia isn't what it used to be

I've been on, must have not posted much, but read pretty much everything.
Work also sometimes drags me to places where the internet doesn't reach, or I'm just plain tired

The 80's is a smashing era, great music, great music, but nothing on the 60's! Rolling Stones and what not

At last you are right Waff.
The sixties changed everything musically and I am pleased that I saw it all happen.

Me Too!
Aren't we lucky ,David, that we have seen all those music changes, and before the 'kids' of today start!!!!! a lot of old tunes and songs are being played and recorded again and again. I can remember buying 'Are you Lonesome Tonight' by Mark...[ooops,sorry,Elvis] and my Mum saying, that was out in my days! Since then,as I sing along to the 'hits' of today,my grand-daughter says; 'how do you know the words to that,Nan,it only came out today!'
history repeats itself.

When did I get old?

If one thing shows that media leads and we follow like sheep it is the music industry.
Some say that TV Etc has nothing to do with the way society behaves.
Violence, porn, etc
So did people have Beatle haircuts before the beatles.
If we copy style then surely we copy behaviour.
We are sheep.
Your thoughts and feelings are not your own.

My brother Robert had a Beatles haircut.
My father promised him for about three months that if he did,nt go and get his hair cut, he,d wake up and leave his hair on the pillow!!!
He did wake up the one morning and had to go and have a crew cut as his hair was left on the pillow.
My dad had been very busy with the scissors while Robert was sleeping.
