When I see the people who "lead" this country, and compare them to past leaders I despair.
They are weak self serving egotistical ill experienced B*******s in the main. Is it something about the career, or does the idea of governing attract a certain type. We read of their corruption and moral weakness almost on a daily basis, and sadly that also applies now to a huge section of the British public. I am guilty of all of the above so don't vote for me. So the best they can come up with is this tired idea about appealing to the conscience of the little darlings who stab people. I was a street kid and I know that respect for and from others comes through the way you act toward them and the way they treat you. Disputes were usually settled in a fight. No knives, and afterwards as a rule enemies became friends. Stand ten yards away from any display of daily newspapers and take a good look. Is this news or is it telling young people how they should be behaving. Lot's of headlines and sub headlines telling us to be fearful of youngsters, but where is the positive helpful constructive news. You will not find any because it does not sell news papers. If you tell people they are no good then I believe that they will act accordingly. |

Shock tastics won't work.
Anyone carrying a knife (unless they are going fishing or some other legitimate knife-using sport) should simply be banged up. If they want to behave like animals then let's treat them like it and put them in a cage. I couldn't give a crap about rehabilitation or helping the scum see the error of their ways, I just want them off the streets and away from me and other normal people. Although, having said that, it does appear in the main that these scumbags seem to only be stabbing each other. It's not as if they are targeting innocent, random people on the street. You read these stories and usually the victim was a drug dealer, or a gang member or some kind of gun runner and you can't help thinking let them carry on and do what the authorities should be doing and getting this scum off our streets. |

It is illegal to carry a knife where the blade is longer than 3 inches, but as nothing really happens to people who do carry knives it is in essence fully legal
Fully agree with raymond about not caring whether they get rehabilitated, get em in gaol where at least they can't hurt normal folk...if they do get rehabilitated, all to the good, if they don't, let em rot, not fussed either way |

I don't agree with carrying knives around on the streets full stop, well now anyway, ask me that when i was 15 and it was a different story, but that was 2 years ago, but i also don't agree with the governments erm "plans" with what to do with the knife carriers of this county, they complain about over-filled prisons, so yeah, just shove in a few hundred thousand kids, and let all the rapists out, good one Gordon! hats off to yah mate! smart move, visiting victims in the hospital, excuse my French but thats just f*****g barmy, nice move again labour.
So my solution to this problem? Stab the gits and then they'll learn, if they live anyway

I think a lot of kids carry knives because they are genuinely afraid of being attacked themselves.
I have had one gun two cut throat razors and two knives pulled on me when I was a teenager in East London so this is not a new thing. I realise now that the people carrying these weapons were doing it because the were not very good at fighting but wanted to be tough. I do hasten to add that The gun incident was down to me being a typical little sod. The difference now is that kids are only to happy to use these weapons on each other. The question is this. Why are our youth living in fear of each other? Why is it so important to be top dog? I don't think it is all down to drugs because drugs are hardly a new phenomena. These kids are without the right kind of leadership. The leadership that comes from grown men to put them in their place. That natural part of the pecking order has been eroded over the years, and grown men seem to assert themselves less and less apart from arguing about football and seeing who can use the foulest language. I don't watch football but I do swear a bit. Take a look and listen to male adults in everyday life and ask yourself what kind of an example they are setting. I know a scout leader who won't work with kids anymore because someone called him a peodofile. Adults are getting more distanced from youth all of the time so their role model is the TV and other know nothing kids. Some kids are I feel just born bad, but the majority are not and they all learn from us |

Ok let's cut to the chase here and stop dancing around the real core of this subject.
You know, I know and Uncle Tom Cobbley knows that well over 90% of all gun and knife crimes (certainly in London anyway) are carried out mostly by black youths. The victims of these stabbings are more than likely black as well. The government needs to stop worrying about being so bloody politically correct and actually stand up and say that this wave of violence seems almost exclusively a black issue, then they should work with the black community to stamp it out. And I don't mean 'community liason officers' or some other do-good title, they need to come down and come down bloody hard. If these knife-carriying thugs aren't British born, maybe a few deportations are in order. |

We all know that the most kids doing this are black, but none the less they are still just kids.
I can't bring myself to the idea that because a kid is black he may be a knife carrying criminal although it does seen to be more likely. Black people should surely be worried about this section of the community doing what they are doing, and must be doing something to try to stop it. I could be wrong of course. Black, white, yellow or sky blue pink, it needs sorting, but our "leaders" are spineless. |
