Orbs

So what does everyone here think of 'orbs'?
I see so many on the net which to me just don't seem right.
I personally feel that 95% or these 'orb' photos are just dust or moisture, especially the ones which are transparent.
I have taken hundreds of photos at different locations showing 'orbs' but would only class a few as real   'orbs'
I feel there is more chance of getting a 'genuine' spirit 'orb' if you can either feel or see spirit in that location.
What's evryone else's view on this?

Well this has to be the most talked about non phenomena ever.

I think orbs are dust simple as that.

Thing is I do know that some people see them on occasion with the naked eye.

I feel that there may be two different things being taken as one.

Spirit Orbs?  Where did that come from.

Folks have to attach their own brand of belief onto everything.  Who connected orbs too spirits?
Raymond

Oh not this one again,  no sorry spiritpaths I really shouldn't be so negative on your first post but this subject just makes me wanna SSCCCRREEEAAAAMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!! - like a thing possesed.

In the words of the great Majorie Doors - Dust. Anyone? No? Dust.
david hobbs

I knew you would Raymond.
spiritpaths

Ok so this was my first post, so I didn't know you'd talked about it a lot before. I will think twice before bothering again.
Thing is  I would have normally agreed with you. I have always viewed them like you as dust or moisture but I took a photo of where I could 'see' a spirit  and for the first time I got an  'orb'  at that exact same spot. So I started to wonder.
I was just asking for your views, thats all.
Raymond

Now, now, now, don't start getting all stroppy - there's plenty of time for that.
Maybe we shouldn't have been so flippant at your first attempt of starting a thread - normally we all pounce on new threads with gusto but orbs are just so,.......... well y'know, crap.
You have to have a bit of a thick skin on this forum spiritpaths, we do tend to call a spade a spade on here and no punches are pulled.
spiritpaths

Wasn't getting stroppy Raymond. Thought this was going to be a forum for discussion.
You obviously think you are someone in authority who knows something that has not been proven 100%.
I never said orbs where spirit, I just said it got me thinking after my photo.
Enough said anyway, can't be bothered to argue with you. This forum just isn't for me there are much friendlier sites around.
I can see why GHE doesn't attract many new members with such a narrow mind.
Bravo

Fully agree.

Attacking new members posts like that is a form of bullying imo...everyone is entitled to their opinion and, at least for me personally, a differing viewpoint is almost more welcome than someone agreeing with me.  That is the only way to grow and learn and develop.

Although it may be too late for SpiritPaths (I know given the same treatment I would just go elsewhere), I think people should be a little more welcoming of others.  That's the nice way, the alternative is sitting having a discussion with yourself.
Raymond

I think there's a huge difference between bullying and gentle ribbing Bravo.

Anyway, as I said in my first post on this thread, maybe I shouldn't have made fun of spiritpath's first attempt to start a thread - and that's about as close as I'll ever get to admitting I'm wrong, and as far as I can see it's spiritpaths using stroppy language like "I won't bother next time" and "you obviously consider yourself an authority" - not me.

If spiritpaths is such a delicate little flower that he/she can't take a bit of light-hearted banter then maybe this forum isn't for him/her after all.

I think all of us are guilty of poking fun at each other from time to time.
Bravo

Fair point

Oh well that's life.

Thing is there are very few people on here who are not capable of teaching, and some who I feel would be wasted if they did not.
I never waste an opportunity to encourage a new seeker and it is always a thrill to me when I see the penny begin to drop, as it were.

People will ask questions that seem mundane, but to them these things are fresh, and exciting.

We have walked the walk to where we find ourselves in this moment, and they may be taking their first faltering steps.

I have also found that I learn more from teaching than any book, or conversation has ever taught me.

Teachers of the occult have always been portrayed as irascible old sods and not without good reason, they usually are, myself included at times.

Like I say, that's life.

As most on here know i have been very anti-orb since day one.
I believe my favourite quote was "Orbs - instant gratification for your average ghost hunter"

So i was quite supprised to witness an "Orb" with my own eyes a couple of weeks ago at the fort. We was in one of the rooms underground in complete darkness when right in front of me a small white ball about an inch in diameter appeared and then floated across the room and vanished.
Of course it wasn't paranormal, just my imagination.
