13 years ago I was nursing on night shifts at a respite care home for children with extra needs . The respite care was set-up to allow parent's a break from the physical and mental demands of looking after a seriously ill child.
The home relied on referrals from Social services and due to lack of funding had to eventually close.
One night in the winter months I was the nurse in charge and with me was another lady who was a support worker. Again,due to lack of funding all the beds were empty but we were being paid to do our shift because at times there were emergency referrals from Social Services in events such as child abuse. As such we had officially been given permission that once all the emergency procedures had been checked we were allowed to sleep with the phone nearby.
The building was a modern purpose built bungalow with a corridor running down the centre. It had been built in the grounds of an old Victorian house.
We made our beds on the sofas at about midnight and settled down to sleep. I recall we both fell asleep quickly.
During my sleep,I don't know if it was a dream...I don't THINK it was a dream I was woken-up by a woman dressed in modern day clothing (suit attire)and I physically remember moving into a sitting-up position very slowly and her walking me down the corridor with other small people (ok if I'm 100% honest they looked to me like the image we are given of aliens -I know this sounds barmy,but I'm being honest in my recollection-and she showed me something that looked like a bright light in the corridor.) The next thing I remember was waking-up at abour 6am with a vivid memory of this happening,not like when I've just had a dream. I asked my colleague if she'd slept well (she had) and told her of my night and she said she'd "slept like a log all night".
The one thing I am certain of in all this is that it wasn't anything ike a dream I have had before or since,if it was indeed a dream at all.

Sounds to me typical of an "alien abduction".
REM sleep can cause this though.

I have been thinking of this a lot before and since writing about it .The thing that I query time and time again (I do have a tendency to over analyse) is the little people I saw whilst walking down the corridor who looked like aliens.It sounds like a clip from a dodgy newspaper but it is my honest account of it. I am,as always ,prepared to consider it could be a dream (feel free to interpret it for me),but when I woke up I remembered it happening so crystal clear like no other dream before. Even 13 years later I can recall what happened in vivid detail.
