New philosophy sectionAt Mr Hobbs behest, I have added a new Martial Arts section, at least in relation to the philosophical side to it.
It occured to me that a good number of the forums were philosophical in nature thus the new philosophy category was formed.
If this proves too confusing, or you simply prefer it the old way, just give me a shout and if that's what folk want, then I can revert things back how they were

I hope by 'Martial Arts' that includes home-grown martial arts like stave fighting and not just imported martial arts.

i used to do triathlons a loooooong time ago.i liked to swim as it was almost a meditation it itself......
after that i got into serious weight training and then thai kick boxing which i really enjoyed...
looking back i feel these activities gave me many things- a purpose and a release also a feeling of well being and pride .
i particularly liked to look at some of the traditional aspects of kick boxing and when i met tom i realized that many tai-chi movements were actually derived from fighting..........further to this i also realized that the ancients had worked out thousands of years ago how to generate the most force and that many of the moves have their roots in magical mudras etc(hand movements)......so maybe the mind+body+spirit +energy+magic are all tied together?
