my first sight of ghosthello all ,my first experiance was at purfleet,i was at a club at the start, and they was having some ground work done, when i spotted a bit of metal in the dirt, which i picked up and cleand in the toilets,it turned out to be what i think was a cap badge of some sort,it had an eagle on it and 4 stars along the bottom.
i took the item home and left it in the kitchen that night and all was fine, but the next day some people came over and i showed them the badge and they wasnt sure of it either, that night we had a budgie in the living room and boy did he go mad he flapped in that caged and sqwarked like mad,in the morning there were feathers everywhere, and he had broke the mirror in hes cage.
i thought nothing of it and cleaned the mess up,and took the badge upstairs that day in my room.this is the scary part for me as i was only young.
that night i was woken by the feeling of someone watching me and to my shock at the bottom of my bed was what looked like the figure of a soldier just standing there looking at me,i could not move or speak at all,i had totaly lost all movement and speach.
i had a big window in my bed room which was 3 floors up so unless some was realy tall he was on the inside it looked as if he was trying to say something but there was no sound from him at all,i eventually managed to scream and my mum came in,and he just faded as the hall way light came on,so from then on i was bitten by the ghost bug.

Your linking things together...the metal you found sounds like a ...medal.
It has nothing to do with your other experience...which was sleep paralysis. Ive experienced it and its a very real feeling....
I woke up and couldnt move on a couple of ocassions, and I felt and 'saw' someone on top of me strangling me. I could feel the weight on my chest and neck and I felt panicky,,,it was a very real experience.
This experience is caused by the way your brain controls sleep. Your body is paralysed when you dream to stop you acting out dreams..its a safety catch. Some people sleep walk because their safety catch doesnt work properly. When you wake up quickly from deep R.E.M sleep ,the part of sleep associated with dreaming...(the deepest part of sleep) your body is still paralysed and you have feelings of not being alone in the room. Its because your subconcious dreamy side is awake at the same time as your logical side. In other words you are dreaming and awake at the same time.
The sleep paralysis feeling is often mistaken for ghosts or alien abductions.

Something similar to this happened to another forum member.
It is a well known phenomena, but pretty frightening at the time.
Was it Incubus or Succubus that were held responsible for this in olden time?
I have been on several cases where the woman of the house feels that she was being sexually assaulted by an invisible entity.
The jury is still out.

i understand what u are saying but i saw a soldier standing at the bottom of my bed i had no experiance of not being able to move i just couldnt speak coz i was so scared,my room was like an ice box and because where he was standing ,by my window i could see him clearly as the lights where shining in.
he just stood there looking at me ,for what seemed like ages.
when i did manage to scream he just faded like what i could only descibe as faint fag smoke,i wasnt even asleep as i had not been in bed long i was just laying there waiting to go asleep,as parents put u to bed even though ur not tired.
if i can remember i was reading a truck magazine as i was mad about lorrys then as all boys were lol.
its hard to explain but i know i was young and in bed but i wasnt tired ,not been in bed long and saw what i saw.also when the badge was left in the living room the budgie we had went crazy the night before ,he had managed to smash hes mirror and feathers were all over the floor.

And the key word in that sentence is "often".

I'm not sure how I would have felt if I began to see at an older age Stuart I can understand the fear you speak of .....
believe it, it happened to you. No one else can really explain our experiences for its rare for two people to see the same viewpoint.
After years of seeing it took me pleasantly by surprise when one of my children began describing the same "man" I had been seeing for sometime without their knowledge- that confirmation gave me confidence :)
I'd enjoy hearing more
