Martial Arts - Lifes answer?I believe that my Martial Arts training helps me to understand and interpret life better. By first focusing upon ones own development eventually your awareness broadens and you can apply the principles learnt with MA to your life.
Not just technique or skill but by analyzing structure and eventually breaking free.
In my opinion any artistic hobby allows a deeper understanding of life.

Sounds more like meditation to me Tel.
I know nothing of the arts except from my pals who practice them, and they do speak of meditation, and it's importance.
I don't know why but I have never thought to ask them about these meditations.
Wish I knew more about them.

Hmm...reading it back it does sound like meditation, but it's not, well not entirely.
Meditation is motion in stillness. Studying the arts is discovery in motion.

I did Tia Chi for a while and I remember telling Mrs H, that it felt like a moving meditation.
Sometimes in circle people Begin to move in a very graceful manor as if being overshadowed by something and feeling the "energies" within and around them.
I let any movement that comes move through me without resistance. It can be very much like Tia Chi but without conscious mind interfering.

Sometimes if there is one bit of discord people vanish.

Well let's just say that you do need a black belt in humility to survive here.
