I think they are looking for the typical stereo type public idea of a witch,as in the witch of Wookey.
Of course,it has to be a woman,complete with pointy hat,warts on the nose! and a cackle.
Mind you in these days of Harry Potter,there could be a chance for a man,but he would have to 'look the part' oh,and you have to be evil too.. heeee heeee
