Government SurveillanceI heard on the radio that our government want new laws past to allow ALL communications by email telephone internet text message etc to be eavesdropped on, and recorded. This in the name of security.
That is you, and me talking to each other with a snoop listening in permanently.
Is it just me or are things going a little to far?
We all know that everyones spied on every day already, but now they are confident enough of our compliance to tell us that they want to do it officially.
Am I paranoid, or do I just like my conversations to be private where necessary?
Are you for it or against it?

Well on the face of it I think "Oh no! How could they?" but then there is the old chestnut - if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to worry about.
Of course I would prefer the government to come clean and admit the real reason behind all this, which is the fact that they have completely lost all control over who is coming into the country and not only are we full to the brim with Islamic terrorists we are also overflowing with criminals from eastern Europe as well, however to say this would to be in breach of their human rights to practice criminality and mass murder.
So until we have the sense to close the borders and start kicking people out we will have to listen in on phone calls and text messages and try to weedle them out one by one - while 50,000 others are slipping in under the radar.
Oh how lovely Britain is under Labour.

I am beginning to become a David Icke fan.
How would you feel is someone you did not know, and never will, sat in front of you every time you had a conversation with a friend, and listened in, note book in hand.
The only difference here is that you cannot see the snooper.
If you've done nothing wrong you've nothing to fear.
Rubbish.
The thing to fear is the loss of your privacy and that is a major part of you freedom.

Yes of course it's a "rubbish" statement, however it's the line the government use to promote their snooping.
I suppose it depends how much you want your life to be secret. Personally I have no problem with the snooping as I really have nothing to hide, I am not ashamed of my beliefs - spiritual or political (especially political) I'm quite an open book.
I have to say however that I have generally found that people who have the biggest problem with government snooping are people who think certain things but would never admit to them.

I have a massive problem with the idea that people who I do not know are wanting to listen to my private conversations.
It is as Debs says for one reason only. They want to control my life.
Well if people want that then they will get it.
I am a bit of a gypsy and I cannot take the notion of anyone controlling me,
Apart from Magi that is, and after 20 years I have worked out a few avoidance tactics
I have lived long enough to see theslide into subservience and apathy.
Well doesn't that just suit the would be power hungry psychos of this world

Yes life is controlled but once you recognise that fact at least you are waking up.
There is control, and there is total control.
Total control can be achieved if we are asleep.
And we are asleep.
