Gets On My Bloody NervesI probably shouldn't say this as a pagan but all this recycling, eco-friendly, environment, save the planet stuff is driving me round the bloody twist!!!
We've got special dumpsters in our street now. Three huge purple things on wheels (no of course the local estate kids don't wheel them around all over the place) sitting in the middle of the street for our recycable stuff.
They are collected on a Wednesday, the regular rubbish is collected on a Monday, and furniture and large items are collected on a Friday.
Before we became all 'eco-friendly' everything was collected on a Monday and all ended up in the same place.
So we've now gone from have dust-carts coming round once a week to three times a week.
And that's environmentally friendly?

Still just the one bin here collected weekly. Seems we must have one of the better councils, a lot of the southern ones seem to be on planet cuckoo land.

Oh, you have no idea Bravo.
But don't get me wrong, if something can be used more than once then it's common sense to use it more than once but as usual the lefty brigade have jumped on board and it's all got out of hand.
And do we really think mankind is affecting the climate? Oh come on, if climate change is real (and that's a bid IF) then it's entirely a natural process. We should be looking into ways of how we're going to live through it not try and stop it.
And I'm sorry, but I'm not going to do the councils job for them and sort out my own rubbish while they charge my over £600 a year in council tax.

We still get black bin bags delivered once a year.
We did have a small green plastic bin for recycling delivered a couple of years back.
I suspect it all still goes to the same place or the recycling shipped over to China or somewhere. We dont have to sort it at all, it all goes together.
I cant believe them saying the bottom has dropped out of the market for recycling things. As the whole idea was to "save the planet" should it matter the payment for paper etc has fallen.

Well that's just it, it isn't about saving the planet it's about this bloody government making even more money out of us.
They make money when we buy stuff, and now thanks to "climate change" they can make money out of us when we throw it away as well.
Incidentally, has anyone else noticed how all the 'experts' on TV and government officials now call it 'climate change' instead of 'global warming'?
Maybe this is because none of us were actually feeling any warmer as a result and so they changed the name so we'd take it more seriously.
Just a theory.

As I said in another thread, it isn't conspiracy it's simple marketing. If you can change people's minds by simply changing a few words, well, who wouldn't?

It couldn't possibly be something as simple as people who are in positions of authority trying to change the minds of the ordinary people into taking an interest in environmental issues.
