email from cutiepieThis is an email, one of many, that I have recieved.
What are your thoughts.
My grandmother is experienving some poltergeist. We dont know what to do with this situation but if there is some kind of way you can help us please contact us at -------- or brittney_------- We have very little help with anything. Weve tryed to contact othe people but they won't respond.Ii pray that you contact us because this evil present can be the cause of my grandmothers death. She is being choked by some force, she feels hot air rain down on her that makes her sweat excessivley, it makes her bed very hot and shakes and vibrates. she is also experincing pressure in her head as if someone hit her in her head. she is basicly being tortured by some evil force. My grandmother has to put rubber mats on her bed for protection. The force also burns the bottom of my grandmothers feet and also her rear when she sits in a chair. She also has to wear rubber shoes. please help us we need you.
Thank you,
Grand daughter Brittney Williams

I would seriously suggest a trip to the GP to rule out any medical causes before continuing in any form of investigation.
The human body and mind are amazingly powerful and can cause all manner of sensations, especially in older/younger/fragile persons.
If it's for real then they definately need help. If it's a hoax then I'm sure they'll lose interest soon enough :)

I'm somewhat disconcerted that they blame an 'evil force' for these manifestations before at least seeing a GP to rule any kind of medical reason out. Probably a case of making it fit what they want it to be (some people crave attention to the extent that they'd even want something bad to be happening to them).
I'm not suggesting one way or the other, merely echoing Sian's point that they should see a GP as a first port of call.

The first step in any serious paranormal investigation has to be to rule out any and all possible explanations, no matter how improbable, before even considering a paranormal cause.
Have you responded or heard back from them?

I have been to busy to respond to anything lately but I will respond and see what they have to say.
I have had a few emails like this one and others from more ordinary type haunting situations.
If you want my honest opinion I think it is a load of twaddle.
If I didn't I would never put it on the open forum.
Still, I shall respond using the answers in your posts and see what if anything is forthcoming.

I don't know why I thought of spontaneous combustion when I read this. Reduce synthetic fibres.
Or its a load of twaddle.

I responded and in a very subtle way suggested that they were imagining things and to get a life.
Just cannot stand people who are so thick that they think I can't spot a wind up.
