I have often heard the expression within paranormal circles that like attracts like.

Do you attract what ever comes your way or is there a random element involved?

Similar but not the same.

The concept of like attracting like is used in paranormal circles to describe the idea that people who see things as threatening and bad or evil tend to attract what I describe as negative spirit. I have seen it many times and it does seem to hold true.

Obviously that means that those of a more positive nature do not tend to attract the negative.

The concept of sensing that which is familiar is more likely to be used as a form of explaining the concept that our minds fill in the gaps when something of an unfamiliar nature is encountered and therefore we may describe something as paranormal simply because we have no previous understanding of it.

Like does attract like. That doesn't mean you have to ignore your darker side as the light loving members seem to do (strange how they've all gone quiet).
Karma and all that is nonsense.
It's really very simple. A positive outlook will yield postive returns.

That doesn't mean nothing horrible will ever happen to you, of course it will, it's just that if you're already in a positive place you'll be able to cope with life's ups and downs far, far better than a person in a negative frame of mind.

i couldnt agree more ,if one was at a stage in there life when they was depressed and low ,then they will attract like ,and if one builds there confidence and is more upbeat and generally happier ,then positivity will attract a diferent energy

I think maybe if you are down, you will see thinsg that bring you down further. If you are happy, you will see things that make you happy.

Does like attract like? Or does what you see depend on where you stand?

I seem to attract people with serious issues. So does my girlfriend. wherever we go we end up chatting to someone who's lead a God awful life.
I wouldn't like to meet someone like me, though my girl comes close. If I met me I'd say he was mad. I lke difference and alternatives.
