Dead peopleWhat would your approach be if someone told you that their 16 year old granddaughter was being pestered by dead people and would you help?
I am sure that many on this forum will have encountered such a thing and I am interested to know what you would do about the situation if anything.

I grew up being pestered by dead people. so in my case.
I would teach my grand daughter how not to be afraid.
But then saying that, I,m in the process of teaching my children how not to be afraid of spirit.
The old saying is......
Don,t be afraid of the dead, they can,t hurt you. but the living can.

Would need to know more facts but I certainly wouldn't ignore the case.

My father told me the same thing when I was a small child.
I was still afraid.

But she's not a relative Dave.
I think you could only give the parent advice but even then I would advise caution. It could be the parent thats causing the problem.
I would look there first.

What i have found has worked with my daughter Charlotte is.......
I have placed a photo of my dad in her bedroom and told her that he would keep her safe.
I have also bought a night light for her room, so she is,nt in complete darkness during the night.
She has dvd,s on when she goes to bed, mostly comedies and light hearted films to ease her mind while she drifts off to sleep.
She still gets a littleafraid, but when that happens, i reassure her that nothing bad will happen to her.
At the moment she has something scratching at her ear while she is on the pc or when she,s sleeping.
she does,nt know who it is but once again i,ve reassured her that it won,t hurt her. and told her to tell it to leave.
I used to still be afraid too David, especially when they spoke out loud to me and did,nt show themselves.

Swannie I have to ask this and don't take it the wrong way.
Do you think that your daughter has picked up on things that you may have talked about in the past?
I have dealt with youngsters in the past and I do know what I would do.
I simply wondered about the approach that others might take and perhaps broaden my experience at the same time.

I believe some of it, yes she has picked up on. but she can,t pick up on a lot as i,m very careful not to discuss anything of this nature in front of my children.
Charlotte and Jade has always been able to see, hear and feel spirit and the last thing i need is for any of them to be afraid of spirit. so i am very careful when the children are around.
I also know when its the childrens imagination and when what they are experiencing is real.

Thanks for that. I asked because I am sure that if I didn't then someone else would have.
How old were the children when they first began to see.

Charlotte was just starting to form sentences when she was a baby.
I remember her smiling at the living room door and saying hello to grampy.
I asked her who she was speaking to, and she said "Grampy off course silly mummy".
I told her grampy paul was home,(she called my late brother paul grampy paul when he was alive) and she said, " No mummy, its grampy Tom! (Tom is my dad).
And with Jade......
It was about a year ago when she started smoothing an imaginary dog in the room.
But as she toddled across the room, she called out the dogs name to follow her. She called Buster, which was my dog when i was young. a boxer dog who died when he was 15.
There have been lots of experiences with the girls since then, but that is the 1st time i can remember with them both.
