The top 2 look a bit like moonstone but it could be quartz. The second piccy looks like moonstone.

It's light blueish and the guy siad there's no moonstone in the store... Hmmm

talking of stonehenge and gemstones... the stone that is stonhenge is from your part of the world. My friend got some and she feels its very powerful. Just a bit of info for you

The two light blue stones are blue chalcedony apparently. Hope the other is moonstone.

Mmmm, I've looked at the picture of the 2 stones together and I still say, they could be either rainbow moonstone or milky quartz. When I enlarge the picture, its a bit blurred so I son't really get a clear picture. Diana, I don't think its chalcedony hun.

Those pics are bad anyway, my stones are light blue, milky but they are definitely not rainbow moonstone cause I have one, there's no 'watery rainbow' light in them and they look like those on the link. i dont know

I've just thought, Diana, you went to camden today, did you get the stones in the market? Where abouts? I work there... mayb e I can find out you?! Did you get htem from the Indian guy in the small tunnel... at the stables part? When I first went there, I was selling my Crystals and Gems but changed last New Year.

I don't know how to describe the shop. It's not far from entrance on those alleys full of shops, Stables part, yes where they also sell food, chinese and so on. It's a shop which has stones outside too, also wooden chests and inside they have stones all over the place and a few jewelleries. The guy selling had dark skin, made me think of Arabian, Moslim, but might as well be Indian. There are also some other white girls selling in there but he seems the owner and girls seem East European. Can't describe it better.
I was obsessive about the moonstone and just grabbed the others without checking. lol. Anyways, he seemed to know less than I do about stones and was puzzled when I asked him what a few of them were. he took a book and was comparing pics. Big Grin

I am wondering why stones seem to facinate people

Do they have different values do you suppose?

I used a quartz crystal as a wand once and I wonder would it have made any difference if it had been a stick of charcoal.

I have loads of stones and to me they are lovely to look at but I think that some people really believe that stones posses their own unique power or energy.

I must say that I think you can use them to focus the mind and I must admit that in the past i have used them for various majical activities.

But do we really need them?

We have used stone for ritual since the dawn of time so this attatchement is very deep within the human psyche.

People believe in many things. People just need to see what they believe in and as long as that looks pretty, why not. But at the end of the day it is the mind power that matters.

Stones, like you said, help focus.

the red one in pic3 is red jasper.the brown onrs might be a type of jasper too..also possibly the freen+red one in the foreground.........

jasper is/was used for healing in north american tribes

I have been 'into' crystals since I was knee high to a grasshopper!
Just bear this in mind; cyrstals may look like inert objects,but they are as alive as the plants and trees. They are not only filled with energy,but are conduits of energy..hence the reason why they are used in watches,radios and many modern medical instruments and machinery. Modern man thinks he discovered them,but they were in use billions of years ago in ancient civilisations.
I myself include them in the elements; eg; fire ,earth ,air, water ,metal ,crystals.
