Do you think some of the experiences could be put down to "New House Effect" Baker 4?
I wondered if this was connected to any of my own experiences at the gatehouse. Obviously it doesn't explain all occurances, but maybe accounts for some? http://www.assap.org/newsite/htmlfiles/New%20house.html Makes interesting reading. |

I have to smile a little at that Kas. One day I bumped into the next door neighbour. I asked her if she new anything about the house. Oh you mean the ghost she said. The lady who lived in it before you liked the company. Everybody knows about it down the street like I said this was just one of many experiences at the house. |

Don't get me wrong, i don't mean to take anything away from your experiences, just offering a possible explanation to some of the occurances as it is still a fairly new property to you both.
A lot of research has been done on the "New house effect" theory recently. It is a theory that needs to be considered. |

Yes I have come across the theory before and of course it is a valid theory. Other incidences include my children saying that we came into their rooms and kissed them goodnight again after we had already gone to bed. my wife purchased two pictures and left them in the hall on the floor. When she returned the pictures had swoped position and one was upside down where it had previously been upright. I was laying in bed on many occasions and heard footsteaps crossing the hall accompanied by a sigh and laboured breathing. One night lying in bed I heard the distinct sound of a coin landing on the floor next to me and it did what coins do. It span for a while before coming to rest. It was only afterwards that I realised that the floor was carpeted and the "coin" would not have made any sound at all. And of course there was no coin to be found. We would often hear a heavy thud outside of our front wndow and again nothing to be found. Worst was the flicking of light switches. It was every night andconstant until I went to investigate then it would cease. On my return to bed it would start up immediatley. The list goes on. I still question what went on but I realise that it is futile to try to find logical explanations. One day working my shift on the cabs I picked up the president of the local Spiritualist Chrch. I told him of our problems and he said "no problem If you need help just call round and tell me". I told my wife that I was going to have the house exorcised ifthe problems continued. Nothing ever happened after that and the Church man never called. It seemed that the threat was enough. I think that it is a case of, you had to be there. That of course is always the case in the paranormal. |
