The horror of these stories is so common it turns my guts to imagine the things children and others suffer.. but babies .. argh how can any one do these things to babies....

This particular story I have not heard of before.. I'm guessing it is a UK thing ?

The law does protect them.. I don't have an answer I think they should have their children removed sooner rather than later

They say the mother 'duped' them into believing these injuries were accidents.

To be frank, that is pure bullshit.

Nobody can look at a baby with its fingernails pulled out and bruised all over it's little body and think it was an accident. Not possible at all.

This is a case of people in very responsible jobs not giving a fig about the kids they are supposed to look after. They should be not only sacked, but imprisoned as they are surely guilty of aiding and abetting a murder.

Let's get one thing straight.

These people are not there to serve the public.

They serve their own agenda and that is simple.

Lick the right backsides,say the right things, and get some promotion and a big fat pension.

That out of the way, we have to (once again) blame the politically correct councils and do-gooders for things like this.

A couple of years ago I had a young Asian couple move in next door to me. They had a young daughter of about 3 years old.
This child cried from morning til night, I kid you not.
This went on for a few days and finally I had had enough.
So I knocked on the door and asked why this kid was constantly crying, they told me to go away and mind my own business.
So I phoned the social services and reported it.
5 days (yes, 5 days later) some gawpy looking social worker turned up.
She spent half an hour in the house.
The next day I had a letter from the council saying these Asians had reported ME for racism and there was to be an investigation.
I was threatened with an ASBO and the police if they found I had racially abused them.
They investigated me for three weeks on a racism complaint. They investigated them for half an hour on a child abuse complaint.

Obviously being racist is far, far worse than child abuse to my council.

Both are hate crimes.

I use to run a young mums group and brought in role models to give these young mums some contact outside the system of welfare.... you know it worked for a few ... I took time off when I had my 3rd child for a few weeks and returned after a welfare worker had been running it just for a month to find one young male there not the father of one of any of the children but the boyfriend of a young mum (I instantly had alarm bells about him my whole system was on alert as far as I was concerned he was bad news (and I was totally positive that he was off his face on Heroin....)... now it happened that her baby daughter was sitting in a stroller with a HUGE HUGE lump on her face it was black with bruising she didn't' make a sound and didn't move at all (not normal behaviour for a child that age and over the period of 2 hours is is abnormal in my mind)..... I was concerned and asked the mum what happened to her baby and she said she fell over while sitting and got the lump.... I didn't' believe her for one second I then took a good look at the mum and to me I could see she too was clearly using speed or heroin herself

I questioned the female social worker who told me the mother was trying so hard and they were visiting her everyday to make sure everything was ok... I had grave concerns and told her so - much to her horror

it so happened that my then husband was the worker for the young woman and her baby.... When he got home that evening I told him I was positive that this client was using and that she was abusing her baby either that or the boyfriend was... we had a bit of a row over it actually because he insisted that this client was not a drug user..... hmmm anyways

So I rang the department with my concerns ... the child was taken for a check up and guess what ... these were included in the list of injuries

she was unable to walk or crawl due to both of her hips having broken breakages from being twisted in the sockets ...
she had evidence that she had suffer periods of suffocation damage to the blood vessels in in the eyes from this .. she had had things forced up her nose and into her ears... she had evidence of internal bleeding,
torn cartilage around broth ears from them being twisted and broken off ..15 different and separate breaks to arms... two many breaks to both legs that I cannot recall the number... swelling on the brain and scar tissue in various places of the body.... the nose had been broken and so too eye sockets all with various levels of healing having taken place.... there was also evidence of the arms being twisted

to my horror my then husband got his client her daughter back and stood beside her in court to say that it was the boyfriend who was the abuser and she had nothing to do with it.. The thing is he believed her story ... ME I did not believe it .. I still don't believe a word of it..... no mother could stand by and let someone else do that .. surely it would be easier to do it yourself...

it also turned out that they both tested positive to heroin and speed and various others drugs...

so the system believes the workers that are "helping" the clients even when these workers are not able to tell when a client is using heavy drugs and abusing their children but a volunteer female worker can tell there is an issue after 5 minutes of seeing them....

Is the problem that no one takes responsibility or that people don't care or that they don't like to look bad.... ???? I believe my ex cared too much and got too personal with the clients and then was unable to see what they really were doing.... I guess that you cant' blame him it is still the responsibility of the mother BUT I am horrified that the courts gave her back - and both of them back in care with the same workers..... that makes no sense to me

I must ask this

Is it the drugs that cause this behaviour or is it the charachter of the people taking the drugs.

I am no stranger to puff and have in the past indulged a bit but I know nothing of hard drugs.

it is difficult to know what is real and what is not.. and the mixing of drugs makes it worse...

I still believe they would know what they are doing..

you always come off the drug after the high you come down and would would see the damage - you would see what you have done

but there is never a excuse good enough surely???

No there is never an excuse either for injuring a child or for neglecting your duty toward a child.

But just watch those responsible for this wriggle and bluster and pass the buck.

They will play for time and hope it all goes away.

And this is the reason, Jade is with my family and not her biological Mother.
I am her mum now.
She has been with me since she was five days old and was in a poor enough state at such a young age when she came to me.
But i am lucky in the fact she only suffered for five days. She will never have a bad memory of those days as she was too young thank god.
