ancient egyptHi all,
i have just come back from 2 gloryious weeks in Egypt.
While i was there i visited luxor, the temples of karnak, luxor temple and the valley of the kings and queens. Until you have been there yourself and seen it in all its wonder pictures do not really do it any justice.
the scale of the biuldings is amazing.
Karnak which was rediscovered in late 1800's is amazing, tall pillars, great heriglyphics many still with colour on them. I would have liked to do some meditating there but it was too crowded. same for luxor temple but on a smaller scale.
did you know that the luxor and karnak temples were once connected by an avenue over a mile long.
We crossed over to the west bank by a traditional boat over the nile which was great for a tour of the valley of the kings. We visited 4 temples of ramseses 2 4 and 5th but not king tut which was closed. They way they were built is amazing and opens up many questions.
A great place to go, when i go back next winter i will visit and caro,
A great place for an investigation i think but the crowds of people would be problem, pity.
We have just purchased an apartment in Hurgada a 4 hr drive from Luxor, which will be available to rent from Aug this year, so if anyone fancys a trip let me know and i will give you some prices and more info.
Hopefully next year i might be able to organise a trip for GHE to visit Luxor, if dave and anne fancys it, but we will see what happens.
Anyway if i have trouble putting some pictures on here i will be soon adding a page on the main GHE website, so please look out for it.

Ha ha ha... that made me laugh Mr Hobbs.... love your sense of humour.
I've been to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings.... These temples are so big and the burial chambers so deep and in some cases high in mountain walls.... All I could think at the time is 'how?' How the heck did they build them?
The emotions you feel when your in these places are tremendously strong.... I'd love to visit the great pyramids one day.....
Thanks for sharing that with us Ian.
love & light,

No dave its worse than that, only joking. It has all the modern facilities, running water and your very own camel.
Egypt is such a great place , i fell in love with its secrets and its people, hopefully i will be going back next year a few times, and maybe the ghe team will go with me.

I manage two trips a year to the west country and a few days golf in Ireland each year but Egypt might be stretching it a bit.
Magi won't go because of the heat.

The energy there was in the only way i could describe it, electric. It was difficult to find your own space in the temples as there were so many people there, but in the places i did find to be quiet, it felt like a blending of old and new energies. Certainly a great place for meditation.
