I have managed to register on the help forum so should have the answer soon.

if he goes into his profile it says there what to do, it asks for current password, then new password and confirm new password

Perhaps you can change your password and then change it back
Passwords and pins are a real pain.

No problem mate.
Truth is, the reason I could not get on the help forum was that I had not realised that I had to register.
Plonker.
Two weeks of trying every password and email I could remember and I hadn't even joined.
Doughnut.
Thought I would say it before you did.
