I am putting together an overnight investigation at Coalhouse fort that is open to members of the forum and anyone else who would like to attend.
I am being sent some available dates that we have and as soon as i have them i will post them up. There are a maximum of 30 places and tickets will be £25 per head. This is non-profit making night and all funds go to the fort restoration.
Please let me know if you are interested or have any questions.
When i have an idea of who is going we can discuss what sort of night we want to have and how to plan it out.
If anything it will be a good time to all meet up.

I have about 20 penciled in but alot depends on the date.

Is it OK to come but not stay all night?. I am in Maderia the week before and walking in wiltshire the week after so I will be knakered. Well I am knocking on a bit.

Of course. We can sort something out although that date was only a suggestion. There were other dates although i've heard on the grapevine that ten other groups have booked since MH was aired.
Looks like i've said goodbye to my weekends for the year.

We cant guarentee full apparitions, Derek style possessions or Yvette volume screaming...but we can assure you it will be an interesing location with a fair few giggles no doubt.

Do you want to plan the night out Tel?
We have a really mixed bunch going.
I reckon we could split into 3 groups. We have two excellent mediums attending too in Maggs (Psychic Tigger) and Cal (Naughty Fairy).
So we can take the psychic route or the scientific one or a bit of both.

Must warn you though. Wrap up warm and wear some decent footwear.
It gets a bit wet in the tunnels and we are the first group to visit since MH in November.

Just a couple of fort rules. Never wander off without a member of the Coalhouse staff, i.e. Me or Mel and no Ouija boards.

There will be hot drinks available but bring your own food.

I'll post up some directions next week but we will be parking our cars inside the fort.

Just a week to go now

I'd like to do a mix of psychic and "scientific". Personally I like to be with the psychics to see what they pick up, feel, etc and try to rationalise (not dismiss or dispute) it.

Rosie picks things up psychically and I think that one of the others that are coming with me can too.

So what will the night consist of?

Obviously we'll be getting an expert tour of the fort from one or more of the volunteers....

Well Kieron and I will be classed as "staff" on the night, but naturally we'll join in with you all. The night will start with the usual H&S talk, then a walk about to get your bearings before we start as the tunnels are a bit disorientating at first. We have have various locations for vigils throughout the night, and a few experiments to try, a table for glass divination or tipping if you wish to try it, a planchette for those that wish to take part.. the usual Kas gizmos that go everywhere with us.Data loggers,trigger objects,anometers,ambient temperature recorders, and not forgetting the "ecto containment traps" lol.. We have a few methods we like to try with people that we have learnt over the years too.
If you have anything in particular you wish to try on the night, just let Kieron or myself know in advance..(sadly the fort does not allow Ouija Boards).
Please just remember to wrap up with plenty of layers, sturdy shoes and some food to keep you going through the night. There will be tea and coffee available all night.

For those coming down from oop north i've heard that the M1 will be shut saturday night at 8pm in Hertfordshire so you may have to travel back on the M11/A14.
On the way down, once on the M25. Take exit 30 and go onto the A13 towards Basildon/Southend. (The fort is sign posted from here). You need to take the Brentwood exit but go round the roundabout onto the A1013 and past the Orsett Cock pub. Then turn right after about a mile. (Buckingham Hill Road). Follow this road through East Tilbury and East Tilbury village and you will come to the Fort. Don't park in the carpark but drive through the barriers and park in the fort entrance. See you around 8pm. For those with Satnav the postcode is RM18 8PB.
If you do arrive early there is a pub just before you get to the Fort.

Thanks to everyone for braving the weather on such a wet and cold night. We had a great evening was great to meet those we hadnt met and see some familiar faces again.

Me and my group had a good night despite a lack of "entertainment" from the other side. A few false alarms, a great location and friendly hosts made it worth our while.

Well on one of the vigils Cal went into a trance.I was already feeling uncomfotable in the room and i just freaked out!!! don't think i've ever been so scared lol

Meiah..Im sure you remember your night at the fort. Paulas freaky moment was in the same place you had yours. That particular part of the fort is having some bizarre effects on people lately. More so than any other location we use. It certainly has a different feel to it. But its still Kas and my favourite spot for vigils!!

For the record, that particular spot is the one place so far that I have felt like I may actually have glimmerings of being psychic.
One medium was in contact with someone, another was silently asking questions and getting answers which backed up what the first was getting, and I was feeling it, emotionally and physically.
I felt myself getting lightheaded, but rather than backing out, I chose to stay with it, we were exploring, sensing, learning.
Was fascinating, sort of like being me but also empathising integrally with someone else. Got a bit too lightheaded

Where fully booked for the year now but we have 4 public nights arranged at £45 a ticket, and also on most open days i will be doing short ghost tours of the tunnel system and vigil locations.

Had a good one over the weekend. We only had 3 staff on and for some reason it always kicks off. It did with stones and objects being thrown.
For the first time i can 100% say that they didn't come from a human hand. Strange thing is the week before i'd asked for this to happen. It didn't but seems they were waiting for me this week. lol
It was such a powerful night though. You could feel it. Had to carry/drag the medium out at the end and if you think he was doing it for effect the punters had already been evacuated and was just staff present. One of the better mediums i've seen at the fort and he's local. He was spot on all night.

Thing is, it was one of those nights that come along where you get activity that just can't be explained logically. There not many from my perspective believe me. The thing that makes me laugh though is that some of the public would have thought it was a quiet night. They watch MH and want everything to happen all of the time. It just doesn't work like that. Anyway next week i'm taking my hard hat!

Been brainless of late (too much, all NOW), a little stress does me good, but this has been barmy. Learned loads though!!

For anyone interested i am now doing tours of the complete tunnel system at the fort on open days. A kind of haunted tunnel tour.
I point out all the vigil locations that we use and describe some of the phenomena that's been reported over the years. I also speak of Assap and talk about what it was like to film with Most Haunted.
