a bit about meUp until about 2 years ago i would never have given much time to things like this. all i ever really did in life was work and go out at the weekend with my mates the usual thing a 23 year old did i suppose. but then my best mate died in a car accident and ever since then i just find myself totally interested in stuff about the things we talk about on here. Does anybody know why that should happen? I still go out sometimes with my mates but it doesn't seem to interest me as much anymore. they laugh at me because i would much sooner stay in a nd read about things like witchcraft and stuff instead of going out and getting drunk. my mum is pleased because she's always been into this sort of thing as well but my dad and mates think I've gone weird.

Hi Scott
I think that a major event in life - such as losing someone close to you - can totally alter the way you look at the world. It's completely natural.
Maybe you've grown up a little faster than your friends.
I think as you get older you have to accept your own mortality, when you're young it just doesn't occur to you that your life on this earth is finate unless something forces it into your conciousness. That is the time when many people begin to wonder what else there is out there.

You're just growing up Scott, and I really don't mean to sound patronising when I say that.
Once upon a time I thought the best thing in the world was going out with my mates and getting rat arsed. As you get older you realise there's more to life than getting your tits out in a nightclub.
Sian - is your avatar a picture of Kylie???
Sian
I have no idea Raymond, it's just sparkly lips as far as I'm aware
Raymond
I think it is. I would recognise the Goddess Kylie's pout anywhere.
Sian
Am not a fan. Will change it.
Raymond
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!
Sian
You are welcome to the lips Raymond but I think i will go back to my old style of high heels :)
Raymond

Just because I know that secretly you're a fan, this is for you:

I'd agree with Sian and Raymond here.. only because so few people grow up if it is just about growing up .. hahaha
Things do happen that make us look at life differently... and also some people do just change with time - that fact that you relate it to your friends passing makes me lean towards that is the event that has created change with you...
so what things in witch craft have you become interested in.. is it herbs healing , spells ???
Scott
All of it really. I went with a friend of mine last year to have our tarot cards read and the lady who did it was a witch and we sat talking with her for hours about it and my first reaction was to laugh at her but i was just so interested and found it fascinating and wanted to know more. Ever since whenever i read anything about it i just feel like i want to be part of it. It's weird.

haha... well buy your self a pack man and get started what are you waiting for ??? LOL
its a common story Scott nothing strange at all.. whatever your want to do in this life why not give it a go

Scott

I am trying but i feel a bit silly asking allthe questions. i'm worried people will think i'm a bit thick but saying i dont know anything
wackyjacky

Don't feel silly Scott, some of us are still asking questions after years of interest... We're always learning so ask as many questions that you need to.
Raymond
I agree with Wacky (even if she is a Lesbian).
The only way to know things is to ask questions. Anybody who thinks you're thick because of it is either way too far up their own arse or trying to disguise the fact that they know nothing as well.
Ask away.
Scott
lol ok

Raymond said... (Dun, dun, duuuuuuunnnnnn) | Quote: | | I agree with Wacky (even if she is a Lesbian). |
Mmmm, are you trying to press my buttons???
Raymond
What would be the point of that? You're a Lesbian.

hhahaha..
Scott
lol what is all this about lesbians?
wackyjacky
Please Scott, Don't ask!
Raymond

WackyJacky has just come out to us and she's having a bit of a bad time. She keeps calling her other half her "boyfriend" so just treat her gently until she comes to terms fully.
She'll soon be wearing check shirts and letting her armpit hair grow like the rest of her 'sistas'.

Oh Raymond, You are hysterical sweetcheeks!

Scott

you are funny raymond. are you a member of any other forum? some of the ones i go on would be sticking pins in a doll of you by now

Raymond

I am a member of one other forum but I try to behave myself on there just because they are a very serious forum and I have some very good and interesting chats with some very intelligent people.
It's a million miles from this place.
But most other forums I get banned from.
Scott
i can believe that. lol
evergreen
I have been banned from a forum too... strangest thing that ever happened to me :)
Waffle King
I was banned from the previous GHE forums, ahhh good times, Highspirits just didn't like being outwitted by a 15 year old, bliss
Raymond
Who banned you? The Hobbmeister?
Waffle King
Give over, i never had a problem with Hobbs, or Anne and Ian is like my nextdoor neighbour, Tony was weird but allright, it was John, ohhhh what i wouldn't give to hurt that man, and hurt him good, he was a pr***, always thought he was right, commited fraud, used Ouiji boards for every occasion, so Alan tells me (remember Alan Dave??) but the rest of the origional mob was ok, Mark and Robin, and i still speak to Lynne
Raymond
Maybe we should try and entice them back.
Maybe if Hobbs showed a bit of leg they might wander back.
Waffle King
doubtful, you'd be better off asking Mark, in honest Raymond
Raymond
Mark's too reserved to get his pins out just to get conversation flowing.
Waffle King
Then ask nicely and you might get somewhere
Raymond
Nicely?
Waff, I didn't know you spoke Swedish.
Waffle King

Raymond

for scott.in my own experience a nasty shock made me look at life in a different way.........in the old days often someone destined to become a shaman usually underwent a very traumatic event ie being injured in a battle which led to a shift in their mundane lives..........
ie waking up from the usual and realising that we all die and that life isnt as we see it.........
nowadays we are so weedy that it doesnt usually need such a severe shock.
i was always interested in the occult but after my little shock( it is different for everyone) i went around like a loony trying to find out things........
eventually i calmed down after about 4 years!!!!!
if i were you i would still go out with your mates and do all the things that you enjoy......just put a little time aside for finding out about wicca etc.....
the subject is endless..................learn from others but do not just accept their word!!!!!!!
a true shaman for example will guide you- but will NOT insist that you follow him blindly..........

one thing we are all pretty good at is advise
its nice to see you and Billy agreeing on something Raymond

i've heard stories like that before billy. i dont think the death of my pal being some kind of thing that launched me into having an interest in spiritual things but it certainly did change the way i look at life
