Think less.

No seriously.

Unclutter your life and unclutter your mind. Useless thoughts generally turn into useless words and that isn't good for anybody - least of all yourself.

I knew you would go mystical one day.

What you said is the greatest key to peace.

Most of them unfortunately.

Morose thoughts about dead people we never knew for a start.

Worrying about the future when we still have to get through today.

Thinking how we would like someone to change but of course they never will.

Thinking about how we would like to be.

Loads and loads in fact.

Yeah, I would agree most of them are pretty useless. However we are thinking machines. We think. That's what we do.
But useless thinking is like any bad habit. It can be overcome with a little patience and a lot of will power.
You have to decide for yourself what is a 'useless' thought and what is a 'useful' thought because your thoughts generally turn into words and then into actions.
No two people share exactly the same life so priorities change from person to person.
To me, a useful thought is any thought that concerns itself with the betterment of the self.
All other thoughts are just gravy.

OK, I can go with that.

On the useless list goes:
worrying
gossipy stuff

Can I keep idle speculation?

Absolutely it is the father of realisation.

Funky.

Even if it is realisation that in part forms our beliefs as we search for experience to validate that realisation, and so deceive ourselves.....or perhaps relearn what we thought we knew and so replace some beliefs with others that fit better at that time, and are so open to being replaced.

I need a lie down. Not a thought, a statement of fuddlement

Why father not mother though? I just ask, not sexist.

Ah, is that one of those unnecessary thoughts?

Worrying is always useless but I wouldn't agree with gossiping being useless.
Gossip is like oxygen to me.

You see? It's all about personal points of view.

Do you know I just felt the urge to use the word father.

I knew that the tottys would object

Nice word totty.

Hope it doesn't upset the little ladies on here.

Actually you are correct I did think that it would provoke a reaction and then some questioning.

Still don't let it worry your pretty little head darling.xxx

You do seem to spend a lot of time on here Meiah. Haven't you got any cooking or cleaning you could be getting on with?

No Raymond. I got up at the crack of dawn to get all that done so when Bryn got up, and placed his feet into the warmed slippers beside the bed, after sipping his perfectly made tea, he wouldn't need to be stressed by any unsightly dust.

Dinner is now prepared, and can be cooked when I hear his car on the driveway later, his pipe is primed and set out beside his favourite armchair with his ironed newspaper, and the ice is in thr freezer for his evening tipple.

The children, will of course, have eaten by then, so he will have peace and quiet, so all that remains is for me to make myself presentable for him.

I'm glad to hear he has you well trained.

Make yourself pretty now or else his eyes may wander.
