I let go the shadow, and embrace the self.

The shadow is something that we believe gives definition the the self but it is without substance.

Interestingly we have to shine a light on the self to see the shadow.

It hides very well until it is studied.

For Shadow perhaps read, false concept of what we are.

But we are not our shadow.

Bet you disappear again for a while

You need a scientist to answer that.

Perhaps everything we percieve both mentaly, and spiritualy has a substance of sorts.

Best way is to ask the self.

In this instance the shadow is that little voice or that little feeling that stops us from letting go of our preconceptions.

The voice that says I cannot rather than, "anything is possible".

The things that make us think "I know" rather than, "I could be wrong even though I am certain"

The negative thoughts that become stronger the closer you come to  a realisation.

The shadow it a good fighter, and difficult to pin down.

Ah....so in the shadow giving definaition to the self, it fixes our perception of our self, and so inhibits growth / realisation......

Yes it does.

You know one of my favourite sayings is "you cannot teach a person who already knows everything", and the world is full of such people.

Those may be spiritual seekers who proclaim to know nothing because they think they know so much, but just go against their beliefs, and their position changes in an instant.

When we ask ourselves what we know the shadows voice is always the first to be heard.

There is a lot more of course.  Twelve years worth to be precise.

from my own experience letting go of the shadow is nearly impossible to teach others...   it is like a realisation one can come to in their own time and usually on their own..

and then there feels no need to explain it to others.. as it is so difficult to show others whom have not seem for themselves

Peter Pan and Wendy have just met and Wendy kindly offers to sew on Peter's shadow for him since he left it behind the night before. What child hasn't tried to catch his shadow not following his or her every move

Without light there can be no shadow, without light ,there can be no love
Where does the shadow go when there is no light?
Can we ever really escape our shadow..is it not like yin and yang?

But in blazing, total light, there is no shadow, just light.

In complete darkness there is no shadow, just darkness.

In a balance between light and dark, there is shadow, there is no "complete".

(seems so obvous....I'll ponder on that for a while. I did an exercise once called LightDark, which was all about this. Think I could revisit that and see how it looks now)
