Well as I'm sure you all know Anne, Davey boy and myself ventured off into the countryside up to the yonder farming plains known as Tiptree, to visit some Church's as Dave said "cos we is 'ard" so naturally, tiptree was our first port of call, and old(ish) church called Saint Luke's. Now for a few weeks this place had been invading my thoughts and dreams, so naturally, we checked it out to find a very strange twist in the time line. Naturally being 'ard and what not we took a wander around the church grounds (well i wondered Dave and Anne sat on a bench) and naturally, i was draw to a certain grave, a family plot to be accurate, the connection of them to me still is a bit unknown (although looking into it i am). one of the Gould Family, now thing is with this grave, you're gunna kick yourselves i certainly did, the date of the womans death was 18th of May, and on the 18th of May (this year, 3 days ago now) i was actually in Tiptree in the churchyard. Also while at St Luke's, Anne found herself looking back to her favourite era the Bronze age at what appeared to be 2 warring tribes, on opposing banks of a river, while Dave was explaining to me, that on Sunday i was probably picking up the particular Gould's death.
shortly after this we "retired" for some Cappuccino and a pot of Tea while i sorted out some, erm, personal problems. ( ) And retrieved some Red Bull from a local shop.
Then we was off once more, this time up to Alphamstone in Suffolk, to visit yet another Church, and i swear we didn't get lost on the back roads getting there, i just can't read maps so why make me the navigator I'll never know, during this trip we found another little snippet of the Gould family, it seamed there was a farm named after them, 2 links here, really must get onto working out the puzzle behind that name. So we eventually got there, to find what i can only describe as the most beautiful church I've ever seen, had a wonderfully old door to it, must have been 400+ years old, English oak by the feel of it, which was stepped in history, it has stone age stones, like proper big ones actually built into the wall, mad, but looks great, so naturally the 3 of us had a wander around the place, got a nice energy flow at what must have been at some point a burial platform. Anne got very excited when she saw a slab that read "Entrance to the vault" and Dave being the man he is, tried to tell her it wasn't the actual entrance, it was prob ally misplaced, only to be proved wrong by a keen eared 17YO who taps at stones to see if the ground underneath is hollow . But by the seams of it, it was indeed a vault as above the stone slab, there wasn't actually any graves, so a conclusion would be that there is a vault under that slab, Anne's suggested we get a shovel and squeeze down there and make sure. after which another quick stroll around the church, i nearly had a heart attack when i found a grave stone that looked as tho it had my family name on it, turns out it didn't but it was a nice thought. Anne found a gravestone hidden under a tree and slightly weathered, we couldn't get a name off the stone by site, so it was down to touch (i ran my fingers across the indents basically) grave belonged to a man with a name i can't spell (Anne help here please ). Then was a short walk back to the motor, another quick stop for a cig then off into the country we went again to Mount Bures also in Suffolk, we had another wander around the Church there, to which i discovered to my amazement that a fair few people buried there had died in there 90s! i was amazed, must be the country air and farms that do it! then we walked up to the actual Mount, climbed into a Moat climbed up the mount itself which was very high, spectacular views it had, Dave and Anne discovered whist there that my ancestry is of the Norman persuasion. Which is of course the people who "built" the mount in the first place (so we assume) Dave was amazed that Bill The Conk was 6'2 and so forth, we then left only to get lost near Colchester station cos of my dodgy navigation skills whilst having a chat about how good Monty Python, so there we go, an account of our 7 hours in the field Waffle Style, hope you enjoyed reading, i certainly enjoyed writing this in a fairly Monty Python style (as requested by Dave) _________________ I give you, the Waffle King
Waff was drawn to go to this churchyard for some time. On Sunday the 18th of May he was passing the church and had to stop and just stare at the church, he felt so drawn to the place.
Yesterday we visited the church and when Waff was drawn to one particular grave it turned out that the lady interred there died on the 18th of May.
Some coincidence.
Alphamstone is a beautiful hamlet in north Essex. The ancient church stands on even more ancient ground as evidenced by the huge stones littered around the church yard and two of which are built into the walls of the church itself. The church was literally built over the stones. Interestingly the stones are buried in the Western wall and on close inspection you can see that the actually mark the western end of the Isles. The width of the Aisle corresponds to the width that the stones are apart.
Getting into the landscape is the best for me. This country is littered with ancient mostly ignored historical sights that are the remains of a once vast, ancient, and forgotten civilisation. _________________ Please visit our main site
Above is an Ariel view of Alphamstone hamlet in Essex.
The church is on the bottom right.
The field to the left is known as stone field.
The road that runs through the hamlet is called Gould's Road. If you have read all of this thread you will understand the significance of that. The Grave we visited earlier in the day was the Gould family grave. Not the same Gould's as they where about thirty miles apart, but synchronistic just the same.
Oh ! let me have my say....I was really pleased for Waffle King as he had no idea why he was drawn to that particular Church. Anyway as soon as I entered the Church yard, I could see 2 tribes which appeared to be waring with each other. I asked Waff where the water was [he seemed a little taken aback, perhaps he thought I wanted to be anointed or something] I explained that I could see the 2 tribes from maybe the bronze or iron age, by the way they were dressed. and the water separated them. One family one side of the "river" the other family the other side. Waff took me to a, DUCK POND, not quite what I was looking for, but then, maybe way back in time there was a river where the duck pond now is situated. In all a most enjoyable day. Any comments gratefully received Anne

Here is St Luke's Church Tiptree in Essex. It is not old as churches go and neither is the site old in spiritual terms, but this is the church that Waffle King felt that he had to visit.

Above is a small section of the grave yard in which Waffle king found the reason for his being drawn here.
And this is the last resting place of the Gould's one of whom seemed to be drawing Waff to her on the anniversary of her death. _________________ Please visit our main site
We left Tiptree and went on to Alphamstone a small hamlet in the Essex countryside about thirty miles away. I have since disscovered that The name of the road running through the village is Gould Road, another synchronicity. The pictures that follow are all from there.

Above is the Ancient church at Alphamstone in Essex. You can clearly see the two 4,500 appx year old stones placed at the entrance to the church yard in more modern times, sometime in the last thousand years.

If you remember Anne you named the two tribes. I believe one began with a C and the other with a T.
seems like a great down out, those two tribes i believe fought over this part of essex _________________ observe your life through your actions.

Thanks for that Dave. I know the name I was trying to say was something like Trinovents, so I was pretty close. The other tribe sounded something like Causicons. I had forgotten I was rambling on about the names of the 2 tribes. Thanks again Dave Anne
