I have been investigating the paranormal for some 7 years now and in all that time I have visited some very strange places from creepy old castles to spooky council flats but Michelham Priory, Woodchester Mansion and Romford Hospital stand out as some of the most haunted places I have visited.

The Romford Hospital one was especially significant because like most working hospitals they don't encourage 'that sort of thing' in case word gets out and it upsets the patients.

However a close friend of mine is a nurse at the hospital and he and some of his collegues brought me and my team in 'under the cover of darkness' to do this investigation.
The particular department we were in had never been paranormally investigated before and probably never will again so it was a bit of a one-off and the spirit there certianly seemed to be aware of this and wanted to show off for us.

Unfortunately the person who kept all our records of investigations has since done something of a disaperance with all our reports and is apparently in the process of writng a book about them in which he gets to keep all the profits.

Needless to say spells have been worked to make sure this book never sees the light of day. (I added that jst in case he's looking in because I know he regularly visits many paranormal sites and he will know who he is!   )

Actually, I've had a bit of a think since posting the last post and I have another place to add to my 'most haunted' list.
A couple of years ago a caretaker of a primary school in east London called us in to investigate some of the going's on.
The school shall remain nameless because the caretaker (who lives on site) didn't hae permission from the school's authorities to allow us to do the invo and as far as I'm aware he is still the caretaker there.

I was one of two Mediums on this invo and we both had information coming at us thick and fast and some of the events we witnessed that night will always remain with me.

I would love to visit this school and do another invo again but I doubt very much if I ever will. The caretaker was very edgy all night long through fear of being caught and losing his job and home.

Those are the lind of invo's I prefer to go on. Places that are off the paranormal communitues' radar.

Also, i think a lot of places are being 'done to death' if you will excuse the pun.

Some years ago I was on an invo in a famous pub in the square mile in the city of London.
At the time paranormal investigations weren't as fashionable as they are now so they didn't charge us, now I hear this pub charges £200 for a night's investigation.
The landlord of that pub certainly isn't a slow chap is he?

I absolutely refuse to pay to go on an invo. Too many places have jumped on the paranormal bandwagon and realise there's money to be made.

I'm friends with medium Ian Shillito and last year he set up a professional paranormal business and charges people up tp £100 each to go on invo's.
Like I said he's my friend so I have a lot of time for him but £100 to walk around a dark building???
And these people are mad enough to pay it!!!

Have a go Raymond.

Raymond's Paranormal Evenings.

Yes

I can see it now.

"How did you enjoy the evening madam".

"Well to be honest Raymond I didn't understand what was going on"

"Well madam, we only escort you.  We don't issue you with the brains required for an evening out in intelligent company"

Emm

Subtle, not.

Oh well.

I do wish people wouldn't keep knocking Most Haunted. It's great entertainment - it's when you start taking it seriously it becomes a problem.
And let's face it, Yvette Fielding and Karl Beattie are now multi-millionares. How many of us 'hobby ghost hunters' wished we'd thought of it first?

I appreciate your words Mark but the point I'm making is Karl Beattie was a hobby ghost hunter just like many of us.
He was a poorly paid camera man and Yvette's career had pretty much hit the skids after Blue Peter.
Karl had the idea that showing a paranormal investigation on TV just might capture the public's interest.
And it did.
Now they have a 20 acre farmhouse and millions in the bank.
I wouldn't mind being a tenner behind them.
