I had some friends round earlier this evening and I nipped outside to check on my guests' car.
It was about 8:45pm, quite dark but not pitch black.
There were no stars in the sky except one - but it wasn't a star because it was moving.
From where I was standing it would have been moving in a northeasterly direction. It was far too high to be an aeroplane.
I called one of my guests outside to look at it too and we watched it together for about 30 seconds and then it just vanished.
Completely vanished.
How odd.

Yeah probably.

It's a shame I didn't have the presence of mind to film it. I could have uploaded into YouTube and then IT WOULD HAVE BEEN TRUE!

Although, the only thing about the meteor theory Waff is it must be remembered that I live within spitting distance of Canary Wharf.

The light pollution from that monstrosity makes even seeing regular stars pretty much a no-no so the chances of seeing a meteor round here are pretty slim.

Most surely Raymond, but it'd still contest the origins of the film and weither or not you'd taped over a previous video of the twilight zone just cos i can

Hey, YouTube is a wonderful thing. It's given us 'The Gay Barbie Boys', 'The Numa-Numa Song', Perez Hilton and even 'The Angry Welsh Woman'.
All of them pioneers in their own field.

If it's good enough for David Icke then it's certainly good enough for me, gosh darn it!

Meteorites do not last for thirty seconds.
It could have been a satellite but from what you say about light pollution that is highly improbable.

I realise that like the rest of us you are familiar with the skies in your area so what exactly was it that made this object and it's behaviour stand out from the norm?

Quite honestly, the fact that I could see it so clearly.

I never see stars here, unless they are really big or really bright. The only stars I regularly see is the north star and the morning star, and that's about it.

I definately know it wasn't a plane. I'm sure of that. It was far too high, and moving far too quickly.
I watched it for about 30 seconds on my own before I called my friend out then we watched it for the same time so it was visible for at least a minute.
Also, plane lights flash, there was no flashing and planes don't just disapear.

I know it wasn't a plane and the more I think about a meteor the less comfortable I feel about it.

The light pollution round here is dreadful. It's never fully dark. Even at 3 in the morning there's always an orange glow around. I can always clearly walk around my house without having to put a light on.

My friend is as lost for an explanation as I am.

She just phoned me actually and was talking about it.

Who knows you may see another one tonight.

We instinctively know when something is different from the norm nd this seems to be so with this incident.

Thing is UFO means unidentified object and as such will always remain a mystery until identified.

Just as a little teaser for you Raymond there are many documented cases of people seeing UFOs and then having a complete life change.

But perhaps not.

Perhaps it was just a military craft or the slowest moving meteorite ever recorded.

Incidents that have been life changing for some usually require the subject to be somewhat unhappy with their life to begin with.

I'm not unhappy with my lot.

I think it would take more than a light in the sky to turn me around.

I will certainly be out tonight looking again.

By life change I meant that they suddenly become psychic or having very strange experiences of a paranormal nature or find themselves pursuing a path that had not been apparent to them before.

It's all a part of UFO lore you can look it up.

I don't know if you are familiar with Christopher Martin.

He wrote a book called Intruders in the Night.

He lived and may still live in Bow just down the road to you by the big flyover.

He filmed UFOs on many occasions and his life got just a bit interesting.  He would be inspired to go to, say, the top of a tall building in your area and sure enough a UFO would show up and he would film it.

I have met Chris several times and he is a nice bloke.

Some say he faked things but then they would say that wouldn't they.

So I guess what I am trying to say is that yes plenty of unidentifieds are seen in your area.

Actually Lewisham has become something of a ufo mecca in recent years. If you're going to see a ufo in London then Lewisham is the place to be. That's not far from me.

As for life changing experiences - does walking around thinking you're naked count?

Showing you your greatest fears and vulnerabilities is a very good starting point.

UFOs do not just have the little green man dimension given to them by the media.

There is an overlap into the occult and metaphysical realms but again you do have to look and learn instead of just saying "Oh that's a load of nonsense".

Looking is something that we are discouraged to do for fear of being left looking foolish in public.

This fear is propagated by the media and by the way this is nothing to do with conspiracy.  Which is by the way another term used by the media to encourage the dismissers.

I see. It's not a conspiracy yet you fill your post with rant about the big bad media - okaaaaay.

Actually I agree with you to a point. And as for making myself look silly in public, that's something I got over years ago. I'd be more than happy to tell anybody I believe in fairies so saying I believe in UFO's is a snap.

Anyway, I never said I didn't accept the possibility of UFO's, I just said I've never personally seen one, and until I experience something first hand I have trouble accepting it - it's the same reason why I don't accept all the conspiracy stuff.

It was not a rant.

UFOs are always that last little mention on the news accompanied by that duo if grinning faces worn by what ever the he she reading team happens to be.

I must admit though that of late they do seem, for what ever reason to be taking it a little more seriously.

I have seen so I do believe.

But what it is that I am believing is is the thing that I ponder .

It could of been a Chinese flying lantern?

they do travel very high and disapear just like that when the flame dies!!

I have released a few myself and I can see how they would be mistaken for a UFO, and when I say that I dont mean and alien spaceship!!

Why is it that whenever we see a light in the sky that looks and behaves differently to what you would normally see in the sky, e.g planes, helicopters etc we think it has to be a "UFO"? when ever my other half see's an odd looking light in the sky he becomes convinced it must be a UFO, silly boy!!

I am not saying I dont believe in there being another life form out in the cosmos somewhere but not everything strange in the sky has to be a UFO, thats just my opinion and I am sure you will discagree with me!!

Not necessarily Pumpkin - welcome aboard, by the way - I think the term 'UFO' is a good one.
It's non-commital, Unidentifyed Flying Object - means it could be absolutely anything.

Flying saucer, spaceship, all of those kinds of words suggest it's some kind of alien craft.

It may have been an orb - or dust!!!

It may well have been a chineese Lantern.

If it was orange in colour and moving with the wind and at wind speed  in a straight line then chances are that it was.

These things have been responsible for a lot of reported Ufo's.

I first went out on a case about four years ago when someone was testing them over Wickford in Essex.

Hmmm, again I can't sit totally comfortably with the Chinese latern explanation, this thing was really high and I don't think a lantern would have been visible from that height, also why would somebody just set one off? Surely there would have been a group of them?

I dunno. It could have been all the things that have been suggested or it could have been none of them.

Who knows?

Well, Raymond....I've seen one...several actually.  The first one was when I was 4.  My mom told me someone must be shooting a movie...but that was a very small town, I doubt anyone would've even found the  place lol.  It was very low to the ground and white.  I could even see that it had windows.

The second time was when I was in 5th grade walking up the driveway as I got off the bus.  It was very high up in the sky and appeared about...ohhh maybe half the circumference of a dime.  It moved back and forth several times then shot so fast in another direction that I couldn't even tell where it went, I almost screamed.

Recently, I've seen them, increasingly over the past year.  In december last year...I think it was, there were about 4 or 5 that I saw in one night...the sky was pretty much crawling with them.  I even played with them with a search light and guess what?  They flashed back.
