As to the first question, guides seem to be different things to different people, the only common theme being that they are there to guide us. So if our beliefs define what a guide is from spirits to subconcious to ET etc, then you have to ask yourself what do you believe a guide is? _________________
Sorry, it was a thought that was obvious to me at that time.
So the questions...what are guides? A straightforwards question.
The second questions stemmed from a thought train that still seems valid.
Imagine you were doing some healing work on yourself, looking at a situation in the past. Perhaps the day your cat had to be put down (ok, not nice, just the first thing that came into my head). You are healing the sense of loss which is still affecting you today, and which you have identified as being something which stops you loving freely because you fear the loss that may follow.
Now, be at that time when you lost your cat. Would you experience the healing as possibly a guide helping you through that awful time, helping you see the happy times?
This all came about from me realising that at odd times, when I have have received help or guidance, it is most often from myself (and often in the form of me laughing at me...Ok so I am not very huggy towrds me, but it works).
How much guidance do we get NOW, from our hindsight in the future?
As an aside I used to wonder what would happen if when meditating you experienced another life ie what some call a previous life.
Is it really a previous life or have you some how taken over another's body from the "past" and are experiencing their experiences and thinking that they are your past life experiences.
If you have done trance mediumship you will know that being"taken over" is a very real experience.
What if the "spirit "taking you over was actually a person in what we judge to be the future meditating and thinking that you are in fact them but in a past life.
I wonder if you can take yourself over? That would mean a seperation caused by time, but as time is illusory, that would be a nonsense.
Although, if you become something that you do not perceive as being you, I guess that is possible. Perhaps it depends on how defined your perimeters are.
I did do trance mediumship on a course, and whilst I wasn't taken over, I was aware strongly of ME, from different perspectives. Once a future guide "me", and once a "me" with a sorrow so profound that I found it hard to let it go. But still me.
