A 65-year-old Texas grandmother says she chased down a man who had just snatched her purse, hit him with her car and held him until police arrived.

"I was madder than hell is what I was," Val Renfro said. "I didn't think about anything else except, 'He's not going to get away with this."

Wey-hey! Good on you girl! Well done that woman! If a bit more of this sort of thing went on then maybe the scumbags might think twice.

Unfortunately that's very true. I was thinking that as I was posting it. We knock the Americans a lot - sometimes fairly, sometimes unfairly, but one thing I have to say I envy them for is when a person feels they need to defend themselves, at least they are allowed to.
